Job summary

The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore (NUS) invites applications for one (1) Research Engineer position in Coastal Engineering Research. The candidate is expected to work on investigating the impact of hydrologic and hydrodynamic processes on coastal structures.

Responsibilities include data analysis with Python and machine learning, field testing, coordinating with stakeholders, and producing high-quality research outputs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or related disciplines.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Experience with field testing and field data management essential.
• Proficiency in finite element modelling and Python required.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse data using Python and advanced methods such as machine learning.
• Assist with analysis of hydrodynamics and biodiversity interactions.
• Facilitate communication and coordination among project parties.
• Handle project administration, including procurement, permits, and scheduling.
• Deploy field equipment and conduct field experiments in coastal environments.
• Summarize research findings in high-quality presentations and reports.
