Job summary

Singapore Maritime Institute seeks a Technical Lead to steer architectural evolution and the technical strategy for the Maritime Digital Twin (MDT). You will head a high-performing squad to deliver real-time data aggregation, predictive layers, and AI integration for national maritime infrastructure.

Responsibilities include shaping platform evolution, data fusion, APIs, security, and governance, while collaborating with government partners and research institutions to operationalize

Qualifications

• Background in computer science or related technical field; advanced geospatial or ML expertise highly advantageous.
• 10+ years in technical leadership, system design, or leading core engineering teams for enterprise-grade distributed systems.
• Experience building complex data pipelines, multi-sensor data fusion, and real-time streaming (e.g., Kafka, Flink, Spark).
• Hands-on AI/ML deployment experience in production; GeoAI or GIS familiarity desirable.
• Proficiency in containerization and messaging protocols (Docker, Kubernetes, REST, MQTT, AMQP).
• Strategic thinker with ability to balance short-term delivery and long-term infrastructure vision.

Responsibilities

• Drive architectural evolution and technical strategy for MDT and next-generation platform.
• Lead a high-performing technical squad to deliver real-time, high-fidelity data integration and AI modules.
• Design secure data infrastructure, APIs, and developer playbooks for ecosystem partners.
• Ensure security, compliance, and robust CI/CD deployments across hybrid cloud.
• Mentor engineers and coordinate with stakeholders across government and research partners.
