Job summary

in Singapore seeks an experienced maritime operations professional to ensure vessel compliance with regulations and mandatory certifications, while coordinating inspections and audits. You will review crew assignments, support onboarding, identify training needs, uphold ISM/SOLAS/MARPOL standards, conduct safety inspections, and assist voyage planning and cargo operations to boost efficiency.

Qualifications

• COC Class 2 or above (Deck) recognised by MPA Singapore.
• 5+ years in fleet or marine operations, supervisory capacity.
• Good knowledge of ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW.
• Experience with vessel inspections and audits.
• Tanker vessel experience preferred.
• Auditor certification (ISM/ISPS or ISO Lead) an advantage.
• Strong communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.

Job description

Job Responsibilities

• Ensure vessels comply with applicable maritime regulations, statutory requirements and certifications.

• Coordinate and monitor vessel vetting inspections, SIRE inspections, class audits, Flag State inspections and statutory surveys.

• Review and approve crew assignments, conduct interviews and support crew onboarding.

• Identify crew training and development needs and support onboard competency and mentoring programmes.

• Ensure compliance with ISM Code, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW and other applicable maritime standards.

• Conduct vessel safety inspections and support incident investigations and follow-up actions.

• Monitor navigational safety, pollution prevention and cargo operations.

• Support voyage planning and vessel operations to improve operational efficiency and cargo utilisation.

• Monitor operational resources and provide support to vessels as required.

Requirements

• Certificate of Competency (COC) Class 2 or above (Deck), recognised by MPA Singapore.

• Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet or marine operations, preferably in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

• Good knowledge of ISM, SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW and other maritime regulations.

• Experience with vessel inspections, audits and marine safety requirements.

• Tanker vessel experience preferred.

• ISM/ISPS or ISO Lead Auditor certification will be an advantage.

• Good communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
