Qualifications

  • Deck officer with valid CoC Class 1.
  • Fresh from sea or up to 2 years of shore-based experience.
  • Strong interest in Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ).
  • Solid knowledge of SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM/ISPS, IGF Code, SIRE, CDI, SIGTTO as applicable.
  • Proactive mindset with willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, reporting and stakeholder management.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and report preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the HSEQ management system.
  • Monitor vessel compliance with international regulations, flag state, classification society, port state, and company requirements.
  • Conduct vessel inspections, audits, incident investigations, and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide operational HSEQ support to vessels, including risk assessments and safety initiatives.
  • Review safety reports, near misses, observations, and performance trends to identify improvements.
  • Liaise with vessel crews, management, charterers, flag administrations, classification societies, customers, and external auditors on HSEQ matters.
  • Assist in preparing vessels for internal and external audits, inspections, and vetting activities.
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company policies and regulations.

Marine Superintendent (HSEQ) | Singapore
Are you a Deck Officer holding a Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 1 and looking to transition into a shore-based career?
We are seeking a Marine Superintendent (HSEQ) to support the safe, efficient, and compliant operations of our fleet. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates who have recently come ashore or possess up to 1–2 years of relevant shore-based experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Company’s Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Management System.
  • Monitor vessel compliance with applicable international regulations, flag state, classification society, port state, and company requirements.
  • Conduct vessel inspections, audits, incident investigations, and ensure timely closure of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide operational HSEQ support to vessels, including risk assessments, safety initiatives, and guidance to onboard personnel.

What We’re Looking For

  • Good understanding of international maritime regulations, industry standards, and best practices, including SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, ISM Code, ISPS Code, IGF Code, SIRE, CDI, and SIGTTO guidelines, where applicable
  • Positive attitude with a proactive mindset and willingness to learn
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and report preparation
