Job summary

Tap Growth ai in Singapore seeks an experienced Marine Safety & Operations Manager to oversee daily tanker operations and ensure safe, efficient fleet performance. You will coordinate audits, inspections and certifications, and manage budgets while driving safety and compliance across the team.

Responsibilities include reviews of vessel performance and navigational safety, mentoring seagoing staff, and liaising with charterers, terminals and insurers on marine matters.

Qualifications

• Master Mariner CoC required.
• 7+ years shore-based experience in marine safety, health, environmental management and compliance for product/chemical tankers.
• Strong knowledge of international and local maritime regulations.
• Leadership, communication, and team-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage tanker vetting inspections and submissions via OCIMF SIRE platform.
• Review vessel performance, navigational safety and operating procedures.
• Guide and train seagoing personnel to uphold safety standards.
• Monitor maintenance and readiness of cargo-handling and navigational equipment.
• Investigate marine incidents and implement corrective actions.
• Liaise with charterers, terminals, insurers and other stakeholders on marine matters.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources and operational costs.
• Improve safety management procedures and participate in emergency response.

Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 1 or Class 2

• Monitor the maintenance and readiness of cargo-handling and navigational equipment
• Investigate marine incidents and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Liaise with charterers, terminals, insurers and other stakeholders on marine matters.
• Manage departmental budgets, resources and operational costs
• Improve safety management procedures, support regulatory compliance and participate in emergency response activities

Requirements

• Possess a Master Mariner Certificate of Competency (CoC Class 1 or Class 2)
• Minimum 7 years of shore-based experience in marine safety, health, environmental management and compliance for product or chemical tankers, with seagoing experience as a Master
• Good knowledge of international and local maritime regulations and requirements
• Strong leadership, integrity, communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills
• Professional, responsible and able to motivate and manage teams effectively
