Job summary

Direct Search Asia Pte. Ltd. seeks a detail-oriented Technical Purchaser to procure technical equipment, spare parts, consumables, and services for a fleet of vessels.

You will work with Technical Superintendents, suppliers, and logistics partners to ensure timely, cost-effective purchasing aligned with quality and operational requirements. You will coordinate with vessel personnel to understand procurement needs, source marine parts, and ensure compliance with technical specifications.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in a related field (SCM, engineering, or business).
• 2–5 years in technical purchasing or marine procurement.
• Knowledge of marine spare parts and procurement processes preferred.
• Experience with suppliers, freight forwarders, and vessel personnel.
• Strong negotiation, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficient with MS Office; SAP experience is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Procurement & Purchasing for technical equipment, spare parts, consumables and services for vessels.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, negotiate pricing and delivery terms.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and monitor orders from issue to delivery.
• Develop relationships with suppliers for competitive pricing and reliable service.
• Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely delivery to vessels worldwide.
• Assist in procurement reporting and supplier performance reviews.
