Job summary

KLA is seeking a mechanical design professional in Singapore to manage optical alignment equipment and the alignment methodology for the latest generation of optical wafer inspection tools. You will identify improvements to yield and assist in the integration and troubleshooting of mechanical subsystems, collaborating with suppliers and internal teams.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor or Master in mechanics with 3–5 years of mechanical design experience, hands-on assembly and testing,

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in mechanics with 3–5 years mechanical design experience.
• Experience in assembly, alignment, calibration, system integration, and testing of mechanical subsystems (optical-mechanics preferred).
• Strong project management, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; willing to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Manage optical alignment equipment and alignment methodology for the latest generation of optical wafer inspection tools
• Identify ways to improve yield and predictability of the mechanical parts and integration process
• Participate in the integration and troubleshooting of the manufacturing issues of the mechanical systems and subsystems
• Work with suppliers to resolve component/part quality problems in a timely manner
• Assist Quality and Purchasing departments in driving supplier quality improvements and cost reductions

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

• Manage optical alignment equipment and related alignment methodology for the latest generation of optical wafer inspection tools
• Identify ways to improve yield and predictability of the mechanical parts and integration process
• Participate in the integration and troubleshooting of the manufacturing issues of the mechanical systems and subsystems
• Work with suppliers to resolve component/part quality problems in a timely manner.
• Assist Quality and Purchasing departments in driving supplier quality improvements and cost reductions

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master in mechanics with at least 3-5 years mechanical design experience
• Hands-on experience in assembly, alignment, calibration, system integration, and testing of mechanical subsystems, prefer optical-mechanics
• Experience in developing manufacturing procedures and leading a team in assembling (optical) mechanical systems
• Excellent project management, problem solving and interpersonal skills
• A self-driven individual with keen technical mind, positive attitude and strong team player
• 25 % travelling required
