Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Singapore seeks a seasoned Trade Compliance and Supply Chain lead to shape import/export strategies, manage risk, and drive cost-saving initiatives across manufacturing and logistics.   • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in supply chain fields (planning, scheduling, procurement, logistics or demand management).
  • Experience in negotiating vendor terms and enforcing agreements.
  • Proven track record supervising warehouse and transportation staff.

Responsibilities

  • Formulate and implement trade compliance policies based on international regulations.
  • Identify and implement supply chain process improvements with risk assessments.
  • Provide guidance on upcoming and current trade compliance regulations.
  • Serve as point of contact for global export compliance questions and regulatory reporting.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze and improve supply chain operations.
  • Plan and lead defined supply chain projects with clear deliverables.
  • Maintain SOPs and work instructions for applicable supply chain functions.

How you will make an impact:
  • Participate in the formulation of and follow up on the implementation of trade compliance policies, procedures, and best practices based on current international trade regulations, laws, and policies to ensure all import and export activities comply with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies globally
  • Identify and evaluate supply chain process improvements and/or course correction/course alignment opportunities Develop and implement processes, including risk assessments, to address potential vulnerabilities and violations of trade compliance regulations, as well as reporting to relevant authorities and taking corrective actions including risk assessments, to address potential vulnerabilities and violations of trade compliance regulations, as well as reporting to relevant authorities and taking corrective actions
  • Provide direction and guidance on upcoming and current trade compliance regulations and operations
  • Point of contact for the company’s global sites on export compliance questions, government inquiries, government reporting, and all other applicable areas of trade controls (including but not limited to Harmonized Tariff Schedules, Export Control Classification, Animal Product Licenses, and Free Trade Agreements)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders in detailed analysis to improve supply chain operations
  • Plan, lead, and execute defined and focused (e.g., cost savings, duty exemptions, NPD introduction) supply chain projects and/or activities with accountability for successful completion within scope of project deliverables
  • Maintain processes and procedures (e.g., SOPs, work instructions) for applicable Supply Chain functions
  • Other duties assigned by Leadership; Continuous training on related job functions
What you'll need (Required):
  • Bachelor's Degree in in Supply Chain or related field, 8 years experience working in supply chain related fields (planning, scheduling, procurement, logistics or demand management) preferably the pharmaceutical/medical device/chemical industry in a manufacturing environment Required and
  • Experience in negotiating in vendor management, as well as establishing and enforcing terms and conditions Required and
  • Proven track record in supervision of warehouse and transportation employees Required and
  • Experience with having P&L responsibility, owning & managing budgets and ability to create & maintain various management reports Required
What else we look for (Preferred):
  • Up-to-date regulatory knowledge of relevant trade regulations, including Singapore Customs regulations, export/import licensing, free trade agreements and sanctions programs
  • Ability to mitigate risk of government violations, penalties, fines, and/or imprisonment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal relationship skills including negotiating and relationship management skills
  • Good problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Solid knowledge and understanding of Edwards policies, procedures and guidelines relevant to local and/or global supply chain including FDA and ISO laws and regulations applicable to medical device industry
  • Strict attention to detail
  • Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast paced environment
  • Must be able to work in a team environment, including inter-departmental teams, representing the organization on specific projects, and vendors/suppliers
  • Ability to build productive internal/external working relationships
  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control
