YOUR MISSION: The Strategic Relationship Builder
As a Regional Benefits Consultant/ Manager, you will be the key driver for success within a high-value portfolio of clients. This isn't just service; it's long-term strategic partnership.
You are expected to:
1.Lead the Relationship
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for corporate clients' Human Resources, Finance, and C-suite teams regarding their local/ regional employee benefits strategy.
- Communicate and negotiate complex insurance and benefits terms, especially with outbound Chinese-speaking clients and insurers/partners in markets like China.
- Conduct annual reviews and benchmarking to ensure client programs are competitive, cost-effective, and compliant with local regulations across the region.
- Lead client meetings and presentations, effectively simplifying complex data and insurance concepts into clear, actionable recommendations.
2.Drive Benefits Strategies and Operational Excellence
- Design and structure customized solutions, including Multinational pooling and Employee Benefits captives, for regional and multinational organizations.
- Manage the Request for Proposal (RFP) process, sourcing and negotiating optimal coverage terms, pricing, service level agreements (SLAs) and placement with insurance carriers.
- Oversee the renewal process, ensuring timely execution and minimal disruption to the client's benefits program.
3.Support the Central Hub for Project Management
- Assist in the collaboration with local country partners and carriers to ensure all benefits programs adhere to local statutory and regulatory requirements (e.g., mandatory insurance, tax implications) in the countries served.
- Assist the implementation of new regional benefits plans, coordinating efforts between the client's local HR teams, carriers, and internal operations.
- Provide claims and service support, troubleshooting complex issues and ensuring both internal and carrier performance meet contractual obligations.
WHAT MAKES YOU THE RIGHT FIT?
We're looking for a proactive leader who can manage complexity and drive results.
1.Professional Experience & Licensing
- Education: Diploma &/or Degree or any related professional certification is preferred.
- Experience: 5–10 years of experience in Employee Benefits, with at least 2 years of experience in General Insurance broking and consulting and/or underwriting, preferably involving regional (Asia Pacific) insurance programs. Prior experience working with clients or insurance markets in Mainland China will be an advantage. Compensation will commensurate with relevant experience.
- Mandatory License: Must possess the necessary certifications required by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge in Employee benefits with a secondary focus on General Insurance. Possess sound understanding of program design, policy structures, market practices & solutions across local & multi-national programs.
- Familiarity with the benefits landscape, regulatory frameworks, and market norms in key Asia Pacific markets (e.g., China, Hong Kong, ASEAN countries).
- Strong analytical skills to interpret claims data and propose alternative plan designs.
3.Language and Communication
- Chinese (Mandarin) Fluency: Native or professional working proficiency (written and spoken) is essential. The role requires the ability to communicate complex insurance matters clearly & accurately with clients across Greater China.
- English Fluency: Decent verbal and written English communication skills for internal reporting, communication with Singapore-based teams, and engagement with international clients.
- Presentation Skills: Proven ability to create and deliver polished, persuasive presentations to C-suites, senior HR and Finance stakeholders.
