Job summary

National University of Singapore’s Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music seeks a Manager to lead Programme Management & Academic Operations within the Teaching & Learning Office.

You will oversee planning of academic programmes, student administration, timetable coordination and policy liaison with the University Registrar, contributing to strategic initiatives and continuous improvement of the student learning experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong background in music.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with strong organisational and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with senior management, faculty, and students.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
  • Experience with student information systems, curriculum management systems, timetabling systems and LMS.
  • Experience in analysing operational data and developing reports or dashboards.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and administer the Conservatory’s academic programmes.
  • Coordinate implementation of new academic programmes, curriculum revisions, and academic initiatives.
  • Provide operational advice on curriculum implementation, academic regulations and programme requirements.
  • Maintain programme information, curriculum records and academic documentation.
  • Support academic planning and programme review activities.
  • Administration of undergraduate and non-graduating student matters throughout the lifecycle.
  • Coordinate Student's Pass administration, exchange credits, and credit transfer matters.
  • Manage faculty-level administration for incoming and outgoing exchange students.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, student-centred delivery of academic administrative services.
  • Class and examination timetable planning across programmes.
  • Coordinate scheduling with faculty and optimise teaching space utilisation.
  • Resolve timetable conflicts and support delivery of academic activities.
  • Liaise with Registrar and central offices on academic matters.
  • Coordinate university policies, systems enhancements and institutional initiatives.
  • Represent the Conservatory in university working groups.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for committees and senior management.
  • Lead curriculum revisions and new programmes; support reviews and QA.

Job Description

The Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST), National University of Singapore, seeks a dynamic and highly motivated Manager (Programme Management & Academic Operations) to join the Teaching & Learning Office.

Main Duties & Responsibilities
Academic Programme Management & Administration
  • Planning and administration of the Conservatory’s academic programmes.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new academic programmes, curriculum revisions and academic initiatives.
  • Provide operational advice on curriculum implementation, academic regulations and programme requirements.
  • Maintain programme information, curriculum records and academic documentation.
  • Support academic planning and programme review activities.
Student Administration
  • Administration of undergraduate and non-graduating student matters throughout the academic lifecycle.
  • Administer student onboarding, course registration, examinations, academic advisement, degree audit and graduation processes.
  • Coordinate Student's Pass administration, advanced placement credits, exchange course mapping and credit transfer matters.
  • Manage faculty-level administration for incoming and outgoing exchange students.
  • Ensure the timely, accurate and student-centred delivery of academic administrative services.
Academic Planning & Timetabling
  • Class and examination timetable planning across undergraduate, graduate and continuing education programmes.
  • Coordinate scheduling requirements with faculty members and optimise teaching space utilisation.
  • Resolve timetable conflicts and support the effective delivery of academic activities.
Academic Policy, Systems & University Relations
  • Serve as the Conservatory's primary liaison with the Office of the University Registrar and other central administrative offices on academic matters.
  • Coordinate the implementation of University academic policies, systems enhancements and institutional initiatives.
  • Represent the Conservatory in University working groups.
  • Serve as Secretariat to the Academic Affairs Committee.
  • Coordinate the administration of academic disciplinary cases.
  • Prepare reports, papers and documentation for committees and senior management.
Curriculum Implementation & Quality Assurance
  • Lead the implementation of approved curriculum revisions and new academic programmes.
  • Support programme reviews, institutional reviews and quality assurance exercises.
  • Coordinate the preparation and analysis of student feedback and academic data.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance academic administration through process improvements and operational innovation.
