Job summary

International Insurance Professionals is seeking a Life Actuarial professional to join as a Manager, Modelling Actuary. The role focuses on developing actuarial models, reviewing modelling methodologies, validating outputs and challenging assumptions to manage model risk.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate hands-on modelling experience, proficiency with stochastic valuation and strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Qualified or near-qualified actuary with actuarial body membership.
• Strong modelling experience including stochastic valuation.
• Experience with Prophet modelling software.
• Excellent communication and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop actuarial models adhering to model risk policies.
• Review methodologies, assumptions and outputs for risk.
• Provide modelling support to actuarial teams.

Key responsibilities

• Develop actuarial models, ensuring compliance with model risk policies and controls
• Review and challenge model methodologies, assumptions, outputs and associated risks
• Provide modelling support and subject-matter expertise to actuarial teams
• Drive efficiency improvements across models, tools and processes
• Support model governance, including documentation, monitoring and issue remediation

Critical requirements

• Qualified or close-to-qualified actuary with membership of a recognised actuarial body
• Strong actuarial experience, ideally including hands-on modelling and stochastic valuation
• Prophet experience
• Sound technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with good actuarial judgement
• Clear written and verbal communication, able to explain complex concepts to varied stakeholders
