Job summary

BHP in Singapore seeks a Manager Marketing Strategy & Technical to lead technical marketing accountabilities and contribute to asset planning and portfolio growth in Minerals Americas. You will manage a small team across Singapore, Manila and Shanghai, collaborating with Metals sales, regional offices, and asset teams to drive marketing initiatives.

The role requires extensive mining/Resources expertise, strong leadership, and negotiation skills, with a focus on strategic and tactical planning

Qualifications

• Extensive technical background in mining and resources.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment with good interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Spanish language skills are highly desirable

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates and instils an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
• Provides technical and commercial advice and analysis to support asset planning deliverables (e.g. LoA), portfolio growth options (e.g. asset studies), and commercial projects / initiatives.
• Ownership of the Value in Use model, inputs and assumptions for copper concentrates that provides deep insights into our smelting and refining customers.
• Accountable for weight, sampling, and moisture determination (WSMD) activities within Metals Marketing including monitoring, liaison with laboratories and surveyors, and resolving issues with assets and customers.
• Accountable for product regulatory and exchange obligations including LME, Comex, SHFE brand registrations, REACH, and RoHs.

About The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manager Marketing Strategy & Technical in the Metals Marketing Strategy team based in Singapore. This role will lead our technical marketing accountabilities, and will contribute to asset planning and portfolio growth projects in Minerals Americas.
Reporting into the Head of Marketing Strategy for Metals, you will lead a small team of technical specialists and principals (Singapore, Manila, Shanghai), and work collaboratively across the Metals sales teams, regional offices, Minerals America assets and other functions to drive marketing activities and objectives.

Key Accountabilities

• Demonstrates and instils an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
• Demonstrates commitment to the BHP Charter and Code of Business Conduct.
• Provides technical and commercial advice and analysis to support asset planning deliverables (e.g. LoA), portfolio growth options (e.g. asset studies), and commercial projects / initiatives.
• Ownership of the Value in Use model, inputs and assumptions for copper concentrates that provides deep insights into our smelting and refining customers.
• Accountable for weight, sampling, and moisture determination (WSMD) activities within Metals Marketing including monitoring, liaison with laboratories and surveyors, and resolving issues with assets and customers.
• Accountable for product regulatory and exchange obligations including LME, Comex, SHFE brand registrations, REACH, and RoHs.
• Manages key relationships across BHP assets and functions including within marketing (sales, regional office, and sales operations), maritime, Minerals America asset teams, finance, legal, and compliance.

About You

• Effective communication: Encourages debate, collaboration and possibility
• Extensive technical background in mining and resources
• Understands key value and cost drivers for our products (mine to customer)
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment with good interpersonal and leadership skills.
• High degree of persuasion, influencing and negotiation skills combined with autonomy.
• Proven track record of contributing to development of strategic and tactical plans.
• Spanish language skills are highly desirable
