Read more about NIE here. NIE is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Learning Innovations Manager to join the Centre for Innovation in Learning. Reporting directly to the Senior Assistant Head, the appointee will be essential in advancing data-driven innovations in teaching and learning, providing strategic direction for integrating emerging technologies and learning analytics. The appointee will work closely with other teams to adopt proven educational technologies and data-driven tools that enable real-time feedback loops for faculty and students to foster personalised learning. The appointee should understand the higher education landscape deeply and demonstrate strong leadership and facilitation skills, particularly in guiding faculty and teams to leverage learning analytics for optimising teaching practices and student outcomes. This is a 2-year contract position.
Provide strategic direction and establish clear, achievable goals for the Learning Innovations team, fostering a culture of innovation and data-driven decision-making. Manage the team’s resources (e.g., tools, software, training) to ensure the effective integration of learning analytics dashboards and other emerging technologies to support teaching and learning innovations. Oversee the team’s performance by assigning tasks strategically, offering guidance, and developing the team's skills to ensure alignment with institutional goals. Communicate team achievements and project outcomes related to learning analytics, and data-driven innovations in teaching and learning to IN-Learning’s management through comprehensive reports. Oversee team performance reviews, provide coaching, and create an environment that fosters collaboration and open communication.
Lead the development and integration of evidence-based frameworks and pedagogically sound design solutions, incorporating teacher-facing and student-facing learning analytics dashboards to optimise teaching and learning experiences. Analyse teaching and learning datasets, uncover insights, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement in teaching practices and learning environments at NIE. Present data-driven findings and innovative design solutions to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with best practices in educational technology and learning sciences. Collaborate on faculty professional development programs, equipping faculty with the skills to utilise learning analytics dashboards effectively in their teaching practices.
Work with cross-departmental teams to develop strategies for faculty engagement and professional development, leveraging learning analytics insights to inform instructional design and personalised learning approaches. Spearhead the development and facilitation of professional development programmes that help faculty integrate learning analytics into their course design, enabling data-driven decisions that improve student outcomes. Lead collaboration efforts to share institute-wide knowledge on data-driven teaching and learning.
Stay informed about emerging trends in educational technologies and learning analytics on a local and global scale, ensuring that the Learning Innovations team remains at the forefront of data-driven teaching and learning innovations. Conduct research on the latest educational technology advancements and synthesise findings to continuously enhance teaching and learning experiences.
Participate in and lead special projects to advance teaching and learning through data analytics, AI edtech and other innovative educational technologies. Collaborate across teams to develop and implement data-informed instructional strategies, using teacher-facing and student-facing dashboards to provide real-time feedback for continuous improvement in both faculty performance and student learning outcomes.
