Job summary

MINDEF in Singapore invites applications for a role supporting defence relations with Countries of Interest. You will strategise, plan, and align SAF's engagement efforts, working closely with MINDEF and SAF leadership to shape policy outcomes.

You will coordinate calendars, brief stakeholders, and develop deep knowledge of regional dynamics. Applicants with strong English and interpersonal skills who enjoy research and fast assessments are welcome; experience is not strictly required.

Qualifications

• Education in International Relations, Political Science, History or Social Sciences related fields.
• Strong command of written and spoken English; proficiency in a second language is advantageous.

Job description

What the role is:

You assist in working closely with MINDEF and SAF Joint/Services to strategise and plan SAF's defence relations efforts with Countries of Interest to achieve policy outcomes. You also maintain an overarching view of defence relations engagements across MINDEF and the SAF to ensure alignment and understanding of overall SAF's outcomes.

Challenge(s)- Managing dynamic nature of defence relations which may be adversely affected by geopolitical developments- Providing quick assessments of events in ever-changing security environment- Discerning and distilling wide-ranging sources of information which can impact the SAF and its operations

What we are looking for:

• Education in International Relations, Political Science, History or Social Sciences related fields
• Strong command of written and spoken English, proficiency in second language advantageous
