Job summary

National Youth Council Singapore's Youth Corps Singapore is seeking dynamic individuals for a one-year contract with the Engagement Team to champion youth volunteerism. You will contribute to recruitment, engagement and recognition of Youth Corps Leaders and Members via online and face-to-face platforms, and build partnerships with local and overseas partners.

As part of the team, you will gain hands-on experience in youth engagement projects, reporting, and coordinating events, while mentoring

The Engagement Team at Youth Corps is looking for dynamic individuals to champion youth volunteerism. The team manages the youth volunteer journey from recruitment, engagement and recognition of Youth Corps Leaders and Members via online and face to face platforms. The team also build partnerships and collaborations with local and overseas partners to develop and curate programmes, partnerships, and platforms to sustain a vibrant community of youths seeking to contribute back to society. Believing in building the larger youth volunteerism eco-system, we support our youth clusters and affiliates by connecting youth leaders and young changemakers to networks and resources to create multipliers for their volunteerism efforts.

What You Will Be Working On

This is a one-year contract role with the Engagement Team to experience Youth Engagement work. As part of the team, you can contribute, hone your skills and gain experience in projects covering two or three of the following areas:

• Outreach, Engagement & Recruitment – Conducting outreach and engagement activities across schools and IHLs, monitoring volunteer recruitment status across programmes, contributing to the pipeline through own partnerships, and managing outreach collaterals and event props through inventory management.
• Youth Development & Intern Management – Guiding and mentoring youth volunteers to curate meaningful community initiatives, and managing the end-to-end Youth Corps intern journey from interview coordination and shortlisting to onboarding, opportunity engagement, and wellbeing check-ins.
• Events Management – Planning and organising key Youth Corps milestone events including the Leaders' Commencement Ceremony, Volunteer Appreciation Day, and Volunteer Awards, covering logistics, stakeholder engagement, and on-ground execution.
• Grant Management & Administration – Administering grant applications and closure documents across overseas and local volunteering projects, and supporting the enhancement of grant guidelines and communications to facilitate successful project implementation.
• Stakeholder & Enquiry Management – Surfacing public enquiries to the appropriate stakeholders and supporting coordination with schools, youth sector organisations, corporates, and other partners.

What We Are Looking For

• Background in and/ or passion for community service, youth development, programme coordination, engagement and/ or partnership management will be advantageous
• Some experience in liaising/ working with Social Service agencies and Institutes of Higher Learning (IHLs)
• Ability to adapt well and thrive in a dynamic environment with attributes of resourcefulness, self-motivation, curiosity and learning agility
• Possess excellent communication and writing skills
• Team player with good interpersonal skills and adaptability to work in cross-functioning teams
• Comfortable with managing systems, processes and data
• Keen and available to engage and mentor youth volunteers on weekday evenings and weekends
