NTU Singapore, housed within the Student and Academic Services Department (SASD), seeks a strategic Planning Specialist to support postgraduate academic planning, intake and enrolment projections, and institutional performance monitoring. The role partners with Schools and internal stakeholders to drive governance, data quality and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

  • Degree in a relevant discipline with 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in management reporting and performance monitoring, with strong analytical skills and ability to synthesise complex information into clear, concise reports and presentation materials for senior leadership and governance committees.
  • Good understanding of governance, compliance and data governance principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio, with strong capabilities in data analysis and visual presentation. Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools will be an advantage.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Meticulous, proactive and resourceful, with a strong sense of accountability, commitment to data integrity and a continuous improvement mindset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the annual Graduate Intake and Enrolment Planning (GIEP) exercise.
  • Prepare postgraduate intake and enrolment reports and support its certification process.
  • Coordinate collection, consolidation and validation of information from Schools and stakeholders for strategic initiatives.
  • Prepare reports and materials for senior management discussions and governance committees.
  • Identify information gaps, trends and risks, and recommend follow-up actions.
  • Strengthen reporting frameworks and stakeholder engagement to enhance governance.

Job description

The Student and Academic Services Department (SASD) is a dedicated team committed to delivering comprehensive support across the entire student life cycle—from admissions and matriculation to graduation and beyond. Working closely with Schools, Colleges and autonomous institutes, SASD plays a key role in delivering high-quality academic administration and enhancing the student experience.

This position is part of the Graduate Education Academic Planning and Governance Unit within the Registrar’s office. Reporting to the Deputy Director, the successful candidate will support the University’s postgraduate academic planning including the postgraduate intake and enrolment planning and institutional performance monitoring through the tracking and reporting of key performance indicators. Working closely with the schools and key internal stakeholders, the incumbent will contribute to academic planning excellence strengthening governance processes, leverage data and insights to inform planning and driving continuous process improvements to advance the University’s graduate education objectives.

Key responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the annual Graduate Intake and Enrolment Planning (GIEP) exercise to support institutional academic planning. This involves partnering with schools for their intake and enrolment projections, ensuring data quality and compliance with MOE funding principles, reporting requirements and University policies, reviewing and analysing the projections to facilitate discussion by the GIEP committee.

  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of postgraduate intake and enrolment reports and supporting its certification process.

  • Coordinate the collection, consolidation and validation of information from Schools and other stakeholders to support strategic initiatives, management reporting and institutional planning exercises.

  • Prepare reports and presentation materials for senior management discussions, strategic reviews and decision-making.

  • Identify information gaps, emerging trends and potential risks, and recommend follow-up actions to strengthen planning outcomes.

  • Contribute to strengthening reporting frameworks and stakeholder engagement processes to enhance institutional governance and decision-making.

Requirements:
  • Degree in a relevant discipline with 6 to 8 years of relevant work experience. Experience in higher education, particularly in institutional planning, governance or policy compliance, will be an advantage.

  • Experience in management reporting and performance monitoring, with strong analytical skills and ability to synthesise complex information into clear, concise reports and presentation materials for senior leadership and governance committees.

  • Good understanding of governance, compliance and data governance principles.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Viso, with strong capabilities in data analysis and visual presentation. Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity tools will be an advantage.
