Job summary

VITASOY INTERNATIONAL SINGAPORE PTE. LTD. is seeking an experienced Maintenance Operations Manager to oversee daily maintenance, implement PM schedules, and lead a skilled team at our Singapore plant. The role requires strong safety compliance, budget control, and collaboration with QA and production teams.

You will drive continuous improvement in equipment reliability, energy efficiency, and cost reduction while ensuring regulatory compliance and safe operations.

Qualifications

• Diploma/degree in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, food production, FMCG, or industrial env.
• At least 3 years of experience leading a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability.
• Knowledge of WSH, MOM regulations and safety management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily maintenance operations to ensure production lines run efficiently with minimal downtime.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance schedules for all equipment and utilities.
• Coordinate breakdown responses and ensure quick resolutions to avoid disruptions.
• Supervise maintenance activities for HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and plant utilities.
• Lead, train, and mentor the maintenance team; manage tasks and provide feedback.
• Develop and manage the maintenance department budget; track costs and inventory.
• Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvement; drive energy efficiency.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

1. Maintenance Operations Management:

• Oversee daily maintenance operations to ensure production lines run efficiently with minimal downtime.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for all equipment, machinery, and utilities.
• Coordinate and respond promptly to breakdowns, ensuring quick resolution to avoid disruptions in production.
• Supervise maintenance activities for HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, and other plant utilities.

2. Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead, train, and mentor the maintenance team to enhance skills and performance.
• Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback.
• Foster a safety-first culture by ensuring compliance with workplace safety protocols.

3. Budget Management:

• Develop and manage the maintenance department’s budget, including tracking costs and ensuring spending aligns with financial goals.
• Procure spare parts, tools, and materials cost-effectively while maintaining adequate inventory levels.

4. Continuous Improvement:

• Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvement to enhance plant efficiency and reduce costs.
• Implement best practices for equipment reliability and energy efficiency.

5. Compliance & Documentation:

• Ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements (e.g., WHS, Building, Pressure vessel inspection and all MOM regulations).
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance (QA) teams to ensure maintenance activities align with food safety and quality standards.

6. Collaboration:

• Work closely with production, quality, and warehouse teams to address maintenance-related issues proactively.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance services.

7. Safety:

• Responsible for the company's safety management and ensuring the company complies with relevant safety requirements in Singapore.
• Responsible for ensuring workplace safety, preventing accidents, and complying with relevant safety regulations. Their responsibilities include developing and implementing safety policies, conducting risk assessments, conducting safety training and drills, supervising the implementation of safety measures, investigating the causes of accidents and proposing improvement measures, and collaborating with other departments and external agencies to ensure workplace safety.
• Develop and update the company's safety policies, procedures and standards in accordance with Singapore's safety regulations and standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and identify potential hazards. Implement and monitor safety measures.
• Organizing safety training and drills.

Requirements

• Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering, or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, food production, FMCG, or industrial environment.
• At least 3 years of experience leading and managing a maintenance team.
• Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment reliability.
• Hands-on experience with production machinery, HVAC, utilities, electrical, and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of Singapore WSH, MOM regulations, risk assessments, and safety management.
• Experience in budget control, spare parts inventory, and contractor/vendor management.
• Familiarity with GMP, HACCP, food safety, and quality standards is an advantage.
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills.
• WSHO, Fire Safety Manager, or other relevant safety certifications will be an added advantage.
• Experience with PLC, automation systems, Lean, TPM, or Six Sigma is preferred.
