Job summary

MGC PURE CHEMICALS SINGAPORE PTE LTD is seeking an experienced maintenance engineer to plan and execute preventive maintenance for plant equipment and utilities in a chemical environment. You will perform hands-on maintenance, troubleshoot PLC-based systems, and coordinate with contractors to ensure reliability and safety.

The role requires a degree or diploma in Electrical/Instrumentation, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with hands-on plant experience and familiarity with EHS standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma with relevant experience in electrical, instrumentation, or chemical plant environments.
• PLC/SCADA/HMI basics and fault diagnosis capability.
• Familiarity with EHS requirements and ISO standards is expected.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and execute preventive maintenance, including IMTE/calibration of plant equipment.
• Coordinate routine and ad-hoc maintenance for buildings and utilities.
• Perform hands-on maintenance and basic electrical/instrumentation troubleshooting.
• Carry out fault diagnosis on PLC-controlled systems, SCADA and HMI.
• Support new equipment installation, upgrades and feasibility studies.
• Liaise with and supervise contractors for maintenance and repairs.
• Prepare technical documents, work instructions and training materials.
• Support spare parts inventory management and procurement.
• Support Technical Department in EHS activities and compliance.

Job description

Job Requirement:

1.Degree in Electrical & Instrumentation / Mechanical / Chemical Engineering with min. 2 years relevant experience; OR

2.Diploma in same disciplines with min. 5 years relevant experience ( Electric & chemical Plant Experience is an advantage)

3.Basicto working knowledge of PLC, SCADA & HMI systems, including ability toperform basic troubleshooting and fault diagnosis (plant operations arePLC-controlled)

4.Basicunderstanding of electrical systems and/or instrumentation

5.LEW license is an added advantage

6.Knowledgeof Risk Assessment and FMEA

7.Familiar with EHS requirements and ISO 14001 / 45001 / 9001

8.AutoCADknowledge is an added advantage

9.Good written and spoken English

10.Proficientin Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Job Responsibilities

• Prepare technical documents, including approval papers, work instructions, trainingmaterials, and submissions to authorities
• Support spare parts and inventory management (quotation sourcing, price negotiation,ordering)
• Support Technical Department in EHS activities, including risk assessment andcompliance with company and regulatory requirements

Job Conditions:

• Assigned to Technical Department which is responsible for company’s maintenanceactivities and EHS
• Workat office on working day: Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm.
• Workoutside office hours when required.
• Permanent Position (Probation period: Minimum 3 months)
