Position Overview:
This role is responsible for leading equipment breakdown recovery efforts, implementing predictive maintenance programs, reducing the recurrence of equipment failures, and ensuring that equipment operates safely and reliably. The role also serves as a key technical resource for maintenance personnel, production teams, OEMs, and external service providers.
Job Description:
Develop, implement, and monitor corrective and predictive maintenance programs to improve equipment reliability, reduce unplanned downtime, and optimize maintenance intervals.
Provide technical leadership during equipment breakdowns, coordinate recovery activities, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to restore production in the shortest possible time.
Plan and schedule maintenance activities in coordination with production to minimize disruption while maximizing equipment availability and utilization.
Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, controls, and instrumentation issues affecting production equipment.
Support critical spare parts management, inventory optimization, and equipment lifecycle planning to ensure equipment supportability and minimize downtime risks.
Manage maintenance-related expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure the efficient use of maintenance resources, tools, and external services.
Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with company policies, EHS requirements, and applicable regulatory standards while promoting a strong safety culture.
Coordinate with equipment manufacturers and external service providers for technical support, repairs, upgrades, and specialized maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, work orders, technical documentation, and KPI reports in SAP.
Job Requirements:
Diploma or Degree in Engineering or a related field.
3–5 years of hands‑on experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Prior experience with optics equipment is a strong advantage.
Familiarity with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices and methodologies is a strong advantage.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is an added advantage.
Hands‑on experience with PLCs, drives, automation systems, electrical circuits, mechanical systems, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
Strong foundation in equipment maintenance and engineering principles.
Effective team player with the ability to collaborate across cross‑functional teams.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate technical issues and solutions.
Experience with the SAP PM module is an added advantage.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and basic SAP functions.
Willingness to work on weekends, public holidays, and outside normal working hours when required.
