Job summary

Novartis Singapore is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to keep manufacturing equipment running safely, reliably, and efficiently at our Tuas South Avenue site in Singapore.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering with up to 5 years of maintenance or manufacturing experience, knowledge of pumps, agitators, vessels, piping systems, and SAP/CMMS. You will troubleshoot issues, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement while maintaining GMP documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent technical qualification.
• Up to 5 years of maintenance/engineering/manufacturing experience.
• Knowledge of pumps, agitators, vessels, piping systems, and industrial equipment.
• Strong problem-solving with data-driven decision-making.
• Experience with SAP/CMMS and reporting tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and performance.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
• Drive asset reliability improvements through data-driven maintenance and CI initiatives.
• Maintain GMP documentation, SOPs, maintenance records, and compliance logs.
• Manage maintenance activities and work orders using SAP Plant Maintenance/CMMS.
• Support equipment projects, commissioning, upgrades, and operational improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate vendors and safety requirements to ensure efficient site operations.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an equivalent technical qualification.
• Up to 5 years of experience in maintenance, engineering, or manufacturing environments.
• Knowledge of pumps, agitators, vessels, piping systems, and industrial equipment.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a structured, data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for reporting, analysis, and presentations.
• Exposure to sterile, pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments.
• Adaptable mindset with a willingness to learn, embrace new technologies, and drive continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with asset reliability principles, predictive maintenance practices, SAP, or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.

• Comfortable working with artificial intelligence-enabled tools and embracing new technologies to improve ways of working.
