Overview

Join MSD as a Maintenance Technician based in Singapore. You will be part of a culturally diverse, high-performance team with extensive capabilities in Pharmaceutical Manufacturing. Responsibilities


  • Plans, organizes, performs engineering and maintenance activities related to the installation, modifications, troubleshooting, repairs, calibrations and maintenance of equipment/system to ensure that they are safe, efficiently run, reliable and meet GMP/regulatory/production requirements.

  • Maintains spares and parts storage, operates utilities supplies and up-keeping of facilities.

  • Assists the team lead to complete work activities timely, efficiently and satisfactorily; follows up on incomplete work from previous shift; collates and reports team activities to the team lead.

  • Provides troubleshooting and diagnostic support for equipment failures to determine root cause and perform immediate corrective actions.

  • Standby for emergency repairs after office hours, weekends and public holidays.

  • Operates and maintains Utilities and Production support equipment to support production activities.

  • Performs and coordinates utilities shutdown, startup, swing over, and equipment servicing and inspection.

  • Identifies, executes and reports improvements to routine work activities; participates in initiatives to enhance equipment or system efficiency and reduce energy cost/usage and other cost-saving projects.

  • Performs jobs assigned by Supervisor pertaining to installation, modification, fabrication, testing, servicing and repairs of equipment, with adherence to site change control procedures or minor projects.

  • Performs testing, commissioning and qualification (IQ, OQ, PQ) activities.

  • Carries out Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) improvement initiatives (e.g., audits, training) and submits recommendations; participates in compliance-related matters (cgmp, etc.).

  • Performs corrective and preventive maintenance for MEI systems and facilities to ensure efficient running of equipment (e.g., checking line components, servicing sensors, lubrication of bearings, servicing of dryers).

  • Performs calibrations and preventive maintenance on industrial instruments for temperature, pressure, level, flow, RH and analyzers (e.g., sensors, indicators, recorders, transmitters, transducers, control valves, annunciators, pH and conductivity meters).

  • Executes CMMS work instructions from process plants (e.g., isolation and reconnection of electrical supply, leakages, replacement of faulty parts, troubleshooting/repair of any E/I or mechanical faults).

  • Performs basic troubleshooting of PLC, BMS, EMS and FAS systems; ability to perform machining and fabrication activities as needed.

  • Participates in SHE, Business Compliance, cGMP and other compliance matters, where applicable; supervises and oversees Third Party Contractors where applicable.

  • Any other tasks as assigned by Supervisors.

What You Must Have

Qualification


  • Diploma / ITC / NTC in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electrical or Instrumentation & Control Engineering


Experience


  • 5 years of maintenance or related experience;

  • Experience in pharmaceutical (preferred), chemical or semiconductor industries;

  • PUB electrician license is an advantage;

  • Fitting and welding skills are an added advantage.
