Job summary

Olam Cocoa Pte Ltd. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to oversee site maintenance, ensure GMP/GEP/EHS compliance, and drive plant improvements in a food manufacturing setting in Singapore.

The role requires a degree or diploma in mechanical engineering with at least five years of relevant experience, strong maintenance knowledge, and familiarity with industrial standards. Candidates will coordinate audits and lead preventive maintenance activities.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 5 years engineering experience in the food/chemical manufacturing sector.
• Strong knowledge of GMP, GEP and EHS requirements.
• Solid understanding of plant maintenance and facilities management.
• Familiarity with industrial standards and commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and enforce site maintenance procedures to meet cGMP, safety and environmental standards.
• Coordinate for plant pre-audit preparation.
• Ensure timely closure of actions.
• Support and facilitate self-inspections.
• Implement plant modifications, capital projects and improvements per specs and budget.
• Provide specialist advice for troubleshooting and process improvements.
• Contribute to capital project teams and maintenance plans for new equipment.
• Propose spare parts strategies and manage spare parts inventory aging.

Job description

Job Description:

• Monitor, enforce and comply with the site and maintenance procedures so that housekeeping, cGMP, quality, safety, occupational hygiene and environmental protection requirements are met to:

1. Co-ordinate for plant pre-audit preparation

2. Ensure that timely closer of action

3. Support/ facilitate self-inspections

• Carry out implementation activities for plant modifications, capital projects and other identified plant improvement projects in line with defined specifications, budget and qualification of facilities in accordance with site to approved procedures.

• Provides specialist advice to other departments and subordinates for trouble shooting / continuous improvements to processes / systems

• Provide input to the project team of capital projects as well as develop and implement the maintenance plan for newly installed equipment

• Provide site inputs of spare parts strategies to development and govern current and new process equipment in term of spare standardization and spare inventory turns and ageing spare parts.

• Monitor and enforce compliance measures (including safety) within mechanical maintenance to ensure inspection readiness of plant, as well as participate as an audit team member in the conduct of audits

Job Requirements:

• Good honor Degree or minimum Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or relevant disciplines

• At least 5 years' engineering experience in the food/chemical or related manufacturing industry

• Good understanding of various industrial standards

• Good understanding of plant and facilities maintenance

• Knowledge of best practices in engineering both in preventive maintenance and plant commissioning

• Good understanding of GMP, GEP and EHS requirements
