Job summary

Monetary Authority of Singapore invites a research economist to join the Labour and Research Division within the Economic Policy Group. You will conduct macroeconomic research, apply econometric methods, and contribute to policy discussions in Singapore.

You will work with big data and non-traditional sources for econometric analysis, and present findings to MAS management and visiting academics. This is a 1-year contract position.

Qualifications

• PhD or Research Master’s in Economics or closely related field.
• Strong background in macroeconomics theory and empirical work.
• Experience with econometric analysis and policy-relevant research.
• Excellent written and spoken English; good presentation skills.
• Interest in contributing to Singapore’s public policymaking.
• Proficiency in one or more of: EViews, MATLAB, Stata, Python, R.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on macroeconomic and financial developments.
• Use big data, machine learning, and AI for econometric analysis.
• Prepare regular reports and briefings to support monetary policy.
• Present findings to MAS management, policymakers and academics.
