Job summary

KAI M&E PTE. LTD. is seeking a hands-on Project Engineer (M&E) for Design & Build, interior fit-out, and related M&E projects in Singapore.

You will conduct site surveys, gather client requirements, prepare M&E drawings, coordinate with consultants and trades, and provide on-site technical support from survey through handover. The role requires coordination with clients, project managers, site teams and subcontractors to ensure drawings are accurate, coordinated and aligned with

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant local experience in M&E engineering, ACMV design, construction, Design & Build or interior fit‑out projects.
• Experience in preparing M&E shop drawings, preferably using AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of architectural floor plans, M&E layouts, technical specifications and construction drawings.
• Practical knowledge of ACMV systems, ducting, piping, plumbing or other relevant M&E services.
• Experience in site surveys, measurement verification, drawing coordination and installation troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Singapore building codes, relevant authority requirements and applicable M&E standards.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and translate client requirements into practical, coordinated and buildable solutions.
• Good communication, coordination and problem‑solving skills.
• Able to work independently, manage multiple tasks and meet project deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
• Willingness to travel between the office and project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Site surveys and requirement gathering, including accurate measurements and condition assessment.
• Prepare, develop and revise M&E shop drawings using AutoCAD.
• Coordinate M&E drawings with architectural, structural and electrical trades to resolve clashes.
• Attend site coordination meetings and provide progress updates on drawing status.
• Troubleshoot and rectify design discrepancies and installation issues on site.
• Check installations against drawings and project requirements; support handover with documentation.
