Job summary

Selby Jennings in Singapore is seeking an Analyst/Associate to support execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A, building detailed financial models and preparing client materials.

You will work closely with senior bankers, manage multiple workstreams to deadlines, and develop knowledge across sectors in APAC. This role offers exposure to live deals and client interaction in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Analyst-level requires 1–3 years of relevant experience; Associate-level 3–6 years.
• Experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate finance or similar deal environments.
• Hands-on exposure to M&A transactions preferred.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and accounting fundamentals.
• Ability to analyse financial statements and understand transaction considerations.
• Excellent Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the execution of buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions from initial evaluation through to completion.
• Build and maintain detailed financial models and valuation analyses, including DCF, comparable companies and precedent transactions.
• Conduct financial, industry and company analysis to support live transactions and origination opportunities.
• Prepare pitch books, information memoranda, management presentations, buyer/target screening materials and other client-facing materials.
• Support due diligence processes and coordinate across clients, counterparties and external advisers.
• Assess potential transaction structures and strategic alternatives.
• Work closely with senior bankers on client pitches, transaction strategy and execution.
• Develop an understanding of relevant sectors, companies and M&A activity across Singapore and APAC.
• At Associate level, take greater ownership of transaction workstreams and provide guidance to junior team members.

Candidate Profile

We are interested in speaking with candidates who demonstrate:

• Approximately 1-3 years' relevant experience for Analyst-level candidates, or 3-6 years for Associate-level candidates.
• Relevant experience from investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate finance, transaction advisory or a comparable deal environment.
• Prior hands-on exposure to M&A transactions would be strongly preferred.
• Strong financial modelling, valuation and accounting fundamentals.
• Ability to analyse financial statements and understand key transaction considerations.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint capabilities.
• Experience preparing high-quality presentation and transaction materials.
• Strong attention to detail combined with the ability to work effectively under transaction deadlines.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
