OTAKARAYA in Singapore is hiring for a full-time Retail Sales Associate at the Lucky Plaza store. Welcome customers, guide them to the consultation area and provide friendly, professional service. You will appraise luxury handbags, watches, precious metals and jewelry, provide price quotations, and negotiate purchases.

Administrative tasks like shipping and entering sales data are also part of the role. The position offers a base salary from S$6,000 per month with incentives, with top performers

About the role

We are OTAKARAYA, a leading Japanese company specializing in the purchase and sale of luxury handbags, watches, precious metals and jewelry. With more than 1,950 locations nationwide, we operate one of the largest store networks in the industry.

The resale market is experiencing rapid growth worldwide, driven by increasing interest in sustainability. Amid this growing market, we achieved sales of JPY 98.9 billion (approx. S$795 million) in 2025 and are on track to exceed JPY 200 billion (approx. S$1.6 billion) in 2026. We have continued to grow for 27 consecutive fiscal years since our founding.

Today, we operate multiple stores not only in Japan but also in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Indonesia, Thailand and other markets. Looking ahead, we will continue to steadily expand our presence into Australia, Europe and beyond while further growing our business.

We are currently hiring for our Lucky Plaza store.

Job Description

• Welcome customers, guide them to the consultation area and provide friendly, professional service.
• Appraise luxury handbags, watches, precious metals and jewelry brought in by customers, provide price quotations and negotiate purchases.
• Handle administrative tasks, including shipping purchased items and entering sales data.

If you have experience in sales, business development or customer service, you can put your skills and experience to good use in this role, regardless of the industry. This includes experience in fashion, apparel, cosmetics, luxury goods, jewelry and more.

You’ll also have the opportunity to work with a wide range of luxury items including bags, watches, jewelry and precious metals from some of the world’s most renowned brands.

No prior experience in appraisals or knowledge of luxury brands is required.

You will not be expected to handle everything on your own from the start.

With support from experienced team members and our specialist appraisal team in Japan, even candidates with no prior experience can build their skills with confidence.

Marketing activities and customer appointments are primarily managed by our head office team, allowing you to focus on serving customers in-store.

Incentive Program

We handle high-value items such as luxury handbags, watches and jewelry.

Because of this, even a single sale can have a meaningful impact on your earnings through our incentive program.

With no cap on incentives, top-performing team members can earn more than $8,000 per month.

• Salary: From $6,000 per month + incentives (top performers may earn over $8,000)
• Working Hours: 10:00 AM–7:00 PM (8-hour workday)
• Days Off: Two days off per week (rotating schedule)
