Job summary

Public Service Division is seeking a Senior/Executive/Project Engineer, Civil to lead contractor management for MRT line construction and upgrades in Singapore. You will oversee stations, tunnels, safety, quality, progress and environmental considerations, and help plan risks and cashflows across contracts.

Ideal candidates will have civil engineering credentials with local code familiarity, 4+ years of large-scale project experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Civil Engineering with familiarity with local codes and transit construction.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience managing large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Underground construction experience, especially deep excavation and tunnelling, is an added advantage.
• Strong project management capabilities with leadership experience and good communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead role in managing Contractors during construction of MRT lines and enhancements.
• Oversee safety, quality, progress and environmental impact of the Contractors’ works.
• Assist in planning risks and cashflows, and issue instructions; assess variations/payments/claims.

[What the role is]

SENIOR / EXECUTIVE / PROJECT ENGINEER, CIVIL

[What you will be working on]

You will play a lead role in managing the Contractors in the construction of new MRT Lines and / or enhancement to Existing Lines. You will be involved in the management of the contractors for Stations and Tunnel constructions in elevated or underground constructions. You will be responsible for the safety, quality, progress and environment impact of the Contractors’ works. You will also assist in planning and managing the risks and cashflows of the various contracts as well as the issuance of instructions and assessment of variations/payments/claims.

[What we are looking for]

• Knowledge in Civil Engineering with familiarity with the relevant local codes and transit construction
• At least 4 years of hands‑on experience managing large‑scale infrastructure projects
• Underground construction experience, particularly in deep excavation and tunnelling works will be an added advantage
• A good appreciation of the constraints and interface requirements of civil and trackwork
• Strong project management capabilities with demonstrated leadership experience
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
• Team player who is analytical, resourceful and results-oriented
• Successful candidates may be required to work from project offices located in Changi or Tuas area
• Candidates with strong relevant years of experience may be considered for senior positions
