Job summary

Public Service Division invites a Senior/Transport Scientist/Planner to join Strategic Planning to shape Singapore’s long-term transport system. You will analyse complex datasets, work across disciplines, and contribute to studies informing infrastructure choices for the nation.

You will collaborate with LTA colleagues and other agencies, apply data analysis tools (e.g., Python, SQL), and help develop planning tools and AI-enabled approaches for policy and planning.

Qualifications

• Relevant degree in engineering, CS, math, or related fields.
• Experience with large datasets or multi-stakeholder projects.
• Ability to translate complex findings into clear insights.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and data tools preferred.

What the role is

[LTA-P&P] SENIOR/TRANSPORT SCIENTIST/PLANNER, STRATEGIC PLANNING

What you will be working on

The Strategic Planning (SPL) works externally and internally to ensure that Singapore’s transport system and future infrastructure can support the long-term needs and aspirations of our nation, taking into account ongoing trends and future developments.

We seek a dynamic, curious individual who enjoys working across disciplines — someone who can analyse complex problems, communicate ideas clearly, and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to shape the future of Singapore’s transport landscape. You will contribute to studies and assessments that inform long-term planning decisions, and have the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology (e.g. AI) and develop innovative planning tools and approaches. You will work closely with teams across LTA and other Government agencies.

What we are looking for

• Knowledge in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Social Sciences, or other related disciplines
• Experience working with large datasets or across multiple stakeholder groups
• Comfortable working with data and have some experience in analytical or quantitative work
• Communicate well, able to translate complex findings into clear insights for different audiences
• A collaborative team player who can work effectively across teams and agencies
• Curious and willing to pick up new skills and domain knowledge on the job
• Analytical, adaptable, and eager to make a meaningful contribution to transport planning
• Hands-on experience with data analysis tools or programming (e.g. Python, SQL) or mathematical/software modelling
• Familiar with land use planning, transport planning, or related policy areas
• Familiar with cloud platforms like AWS or Google Cloud
