Job summary

Land Transport Authority (LTA) is seeking a Computational Design Technologist for a 1-year temporary contract in Singapore. You will work on AI-driven digitalisation for Infrastructure Design & Engineering, focusing on parametric design, interface work, and backend documentation.

You will author machine-readable rule-sets, build design corpora, and participate in workshops to align goals and validations with discipline leads, ensuring accurate interpretations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science or Computer Science.
• Parametric analytical thinking and IT skills for AI digitalisation project.
• Ability to participate in team discussions and coordinate workshops.
• Proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript to write and test rule evaluators.
• Exposure to rules-as-code domains (JSON Logic, DMN, OPA/Rego).

Responsibilities

• Conduct rule-set authoring to convert criteria into machine-readable code/rule-sets.
• Build a context library with a corpus of past station designs.

What the role is:

[LTA-IDE] COMPUTATIONAL DESIGN TECHNOLOGIST (1-YEAR TEMPORARY CONTRACT)

What you will be working on:

As part of the team members developing AI digitalisation for Infrastructure Design & Engineering Division, you will focus on Computational parametric design and Ai generative digitalisation project for LTA Station Design Criteria. In addition to software development, this project covers a broad-spectrum including design of users’ interface, back-end documentation for troubleshooting, etc.

Some key tasks are as follows:

• Conduct Rule-set authoring toConvert Criteria into machine-readable code/rule-sets;
• Build the context library consisting a corpus of past station designs with known outcomes;
• Assist Leader to conduct series of Workshops to establish key goals for review and validations.
• Run structured technical sessions with discipline leads to validate interpretations.

What we are looking for:

• Knowledge in Architecture, Civil/Structural Engineering, Building Science, Computer Science or a related discipline.
• Parametric analytical thinking skill set & IT expertise to carry out analysis, coding and script-writing to develop a platform for Ai Generative Digitalisation project
• Participate in team discussion and coordinate workshop
• Working proficiency in Python or JavaScript/TypeScript — able to write and test a rule evaluator, not only edit scripts.
• Exposure to rule or decision engines (JSON Logic, DMN, OPA/Rego) or to any regulated rules-as-code domain.
