[What the role is]

SENIOR / EXECUTIVE PLANNER / PLANNER, ACTIVE MOBILITY

[What you will be working on]

The Active Mobility Group develops, promotes and regulates the use of active mobility (cycling, riding personal mobility devices, using personal mobility aids, and walking) as a key strategy in LTA’s Walk Cycle Ride vision. This includes overseeing the full value chain of activities from conceptualisation and planning to regulation and communications.

There are 5 main aspects of the Group’s work on Active Mobility:

  • i. Planning
  • ii. Infrastructure Design
  • iii. Promotion and Engagement
  • iv. Regulatory Policy
  • v. Device Sharing
  • vi. Active Mobility Device Import Control
  • vii. Walkability

We seek a dynamic individual with strong analytical and communication skills, and in interest in transport, urban planning and creating walkable cities. You will play a key role in shaping Singapore’s transformation into a highly Valuable city by developing long-term walking strategies, policies and planning frameworks.

You will contribute to the development and implementation of Singapore’s National Walking Masterplan, formulate walking-related policies and planning strategies, and review and develop planning and design guidance to support safe, direct, comfortable and inclusive walking environments. You will work closely with internal divisions and government agencies to harmonise walking standards, integrate walkability considerations into transport and urban development plans, and strengthen the pedestrian network across Singapore.

In addition, you will conduct policy and planning studies, analyse data and international best practices, review technical standards and guidance documents, and develop planning initiatives that enhance connectivity, accessibility and the overall pedestrian experience.

[What we are looking for]
  • Knowledge preferably in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Economics, Geography, Engineering System Design, Transport Engineering, Transport Planning, Town/Urban Planning, or a related discipline.
  • Those with relevant experience in urban and transport planning, policy development or infrastructure planning will be well suited for the role
  • Experience in land use planning, transport planning and transport modelling simulation techniques, and knowledge of pedestrian and cyclist demand modelling and simulation tools will be an advantage
  • Strong analytical, communication and report writing skills
  • Knowledge of Microstation/AutoCAD/ArcGIS Pro, spatial analysis or data analysis will be an advantage
