Job summary

Lenovo Singapore seeks a senior network engineer to manage and harden enterprise networks, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. You will monitor with SolarWinds, PRTG and Nagios, respond to incidents, and coordinate with external vendors.

The role requires 8+ years of hands-on networking, CCNA or equivalent, and strong routing/SDN, VPN, and firewall skills. You will work 24x7 shifts, implement changes, and support cloud networking as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hands-on networking experience.
• Willing to work 24x7 shifts.
• Strong routing, SDN, VPN, and network security knowledge.
• CCNA certification or equivalent required.
• Experience with Cisco routing/switching, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Familiar with ITIL processes.

Responsibilities

• Ensure network performance using monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
• Respond to incidents in a timely manner and coordinate with vendors.
• Travel to remote sites for troubleshooting and support as needed.
• Escalate to 3rd party vendors for hardware, software and telco related problems.
• Implement changes for load balancers, routing, and security device configurations.
• Perform firmware updates for network and security devices.
• Check logs and secure events; close ITSM tickets timely.
• Collaborate with vendors for root cause analysis and incident resolution.

Description and Requirements

Key responsibilities

• Ensure that the network is performing normally by using network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios)
• Ensure that all incidents reported are supported on timely manner.
• Travel to remote sites for troubleshooting and support as needed.
• Ensure that all alerts and events in the monitoring tools are being attended to.
• Perform timely escalation to 3rd vendors for hardware, software and telco related problems.
• Support service requests for operational changes related to load balancers, network switching and routing, firewall rules, update of security policies in security devices.
• Perform firmware upgrades for network and security devices.
• Check and react to security events on intrusion detection and prevention system, WAF
• Check, troubleshoot and log ticket to Cloud Service Providers for networking components deployed in Azure, AWS.
• Proficiency in using network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios)
• Analyze network performance issues and recommends optimization options for implementation.
• Perform NetFlow tracing
• Ensure timely update and closure of ITSM tickets
• Work with the team and 3rd party vendors to provide root cause analysis for incidents.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 8 or more years of relevant hands-on experience.
• Willing to work on 24x7 operational shifts.
• Strong understanding of routing protocols, SDN, VPNs, and network security best practices.
• Certification: CCNA or equivalent.
• Experience with network monitoring and support of Cisco Routing and Switching, Network load balancers, Checkpoint or Palo Alto Firewalls
• Familiar with ITIL best practices and processes
• Good knowledge of networking (IP addressing, routing, VLANs)
• Familiarity with automation tools (Python, Ansible) and orchestration concepts.
