Job summary

Zhenghe Logistics Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Logistics Manager to lead and strengthen our logistics operations team. This hands-on role guides a small team of about five to six staff, focusing on practical container movements, shipping bookings, and operational planning to keep cargo moving smoothly.

You will review vessel schedules, coordinate with lines, depots and hauliers, and drive improvements in SOPs, workflows and accountability.

Qualifications

• Hands-on operational experience is essential.
• Experience with barge/offshore stuffing is advantageous.

Responsibilities

We’re Hiring: Logistics Manager

Zhenghe Logistics Pte Ltd is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to lead and strengthen our logistics operations team in Singapore.

This is a hands-on operations management role leading a small team of approximately 5 to 6 employees.

We are looking for someone who understands the actual movement of containers and cargo, not only the paperwork.

The successful candidate should have practical experience in logistics operations, shipping bookings, container movements, trucking and preferably barge operations and offshore stuffing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the daily activities of a logistics team of approximately 5 to 6 employees
• Coordinate barge operations, including loading, discharge, container movement and operational planning
• Manage offshore stuffing and container stuffing operations
• Review shipping bookings, vessel schedules, cut-off dates and container requirements
• Check booking details, vessel information, container numbers, seal numbers and shipment requirements before execution
• Coordinate with shipping lines, NVOCCs, forwarders, hauliers, depots, terminals, factories and other logistics partners
• Monitor detention, demurrage, port storage, free time and operational deadlines
• Identify operational risks early and take corrective action
• Review and improve logistics SOPs, workflows and checking procedures
• Manage workload allocation, staff responsibilities and backup coverage
• Coach and develop team members
• Help Management restructure the team where necessary to improve accountability and performance
• Investigate repeated operational mistakes and implement preventive measures
• Provide regular operational updates and recommendations to Management

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years and above relevant experience in logistics, shipping, freight forwarding or container operations
• Hands-on operational experience is essential
• Practical experience handling barge operations is highly preferred
• Experience in offshore stuffing or container stuffing will be an advantage
• Good understanding of shipping bookings and vessel schedules
• Good knowledge of FCL container operations, depots, trucking and terminals
• Understanding of detention, demurrage, free time and port storage
• Able to review shipping documents and booking confirmations accurately
• Experience supervising or managing a small operations team
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Strong sense of ownership, accountability and attention to detail
• Able to improve workflow, clarify responsibilities and develop team performance

The Person We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who can lead while remaining hands-on.

The right candidate should be able to understand what is happening operationally, ask questions when information does not make sense, make practical decisions and guide the team towards better accuracy, discipline and accountability.

We do not expect the Logistics Manager to manage a large department.

We need someone who can build a small, capable and dependable team that understands its responsibilities and takes ownership of the operation.
