Job summary

Selby Jennings is seeking an LNG Cargo Operations Specialist to support end-to-end execution of physical LNG transactions and ensure seamless cargo operations across global markets. The role focuses on managing the full lifecycle, coordinating with traders, terminals, and vessel owners to deliver timely settlements.

You will monitor schedules, review documentation, and work with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a maritime, logistics, or related discipline.
• Experience in LNG operations or commodity trade operations is preferred.
• Solid knowledge of LNG cargo execution and shipping logistics.
• Experience with trade documentation and regulatory processes.
• Strong communication with multiple internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end LNG cargo operations from confirmation to delivery and settlement.
• Coordinate with traders, terminals, vessels, inspectors, and agents for cargo execution.
• Monitor schedules, vessel movements, loading/discharge, and contractual obligations.
• Review and manage shipping documents and ensure timely processing.
• Collaborate with Shipping, Trading, Risk, Finance, Legal, and Trade Finance to resolve issues.
• Identify operational risks and ensure compliance with internal policies.

As part of their growing LNG business, they are seeking an LNG Cargo Operations Specialist to support the end-to-end execution of physical LNG transactions and ensure seamless cargo operations across global markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full operational lifecycle of LNG cargoes from trade confirmation through to final delivery and settlement.
• Coordinate with traders, counterparties, terminal operators, vessel owners, inspectors, and agents to ensure smooth cargo execution.
• Monitor cargo schedules, vessel movements, loading/discharge operations, and contractual obligations.
• Review and manage operational and shipping documentation, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
• Work closely with Shipping, Trading, Risk, Finance, Legal, and Trade Finance teams to resolve operational issues and support settlements.
• Identify and mitigate operational risks while ensuring compliance with internal policies and contractual requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Economics, or a related discipline.
• 3-8 years of experience in LNG Operations, LNG Shipping Operations, Natural Gas Operations, or Commodity Trade Operations.
• Good understanding of LNG cargo execution, shipping logistics, vessel scheduling, and terminal operations.
• Familiarity with LNG SPAs, trade documentation, and commodity trading processes.
• Strong stakeholder management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
