Job summary

LPS in Singapore is seeking a Linux Engineer to join a 24×7 shift-based operations team. You will monitor Linux/Unix systems, perform first-level troubleshooting, and escalate to senior engineers as required, working with Network Operations, DBAs, and Wintel teams to ensure uptime and compliance with SLAs.

The role emphasizes routine health checks, incident logging, patching, and change activities following runbooks.

Qualifications

• Proven Linux/Unix system support experience.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.
• Basic scripting knowledge (Shell, Bash).
• Experience with monitoring tools.

Responsibilities

• Monitor Linux/Unix systems, applications, and infrastructure using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Respond to alerts, perform initial triage, and determine escalation paths based on SOPs.
• Conduct routine system health checks and document findings.
• Act as first responder during shift for system or service incidents.
• Perform basic troubleshooting (logs review, process checks, disk usage, service status).
• Create and update incident tickets with clear and accurate information.
• Escalate promptly to L2 engineers or vendor support when issues exceed L1 scope.
