Job summary

Capgemini Singapore is seeking an experienced Linux Administrator to lead migration of OpenShift clusters from VMware to baremetal infrastructure. You will design scalable cluster architectures, develop automation, and ensure secure, high-availability Linux environments aligned with Oracle deployments.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Linux system administration (RHEL/CentOS preferred).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Platform (OCP).
  • 3+ years of experience with automation tools (Ansible, Terraform or similar).
  • Strong knowledge of baremetal server provisioning and cluster engineering.
  • Experience with networking concepts TCP/IP, VLAN, DNS, firewalls.
  • Familiarity with Oracle databases in Linux environments; Oracle integration recommended.
  • RHCE or equivalent certification is advantageous.
  • Experience with VMware virtualization and migration strategies; Kubernetes knowledge is a plus.

  • Lead and execute migration of OCP clusters from VMware to baremetal infrastructure.
  • Design and implement scalable, secure baremetal cluster architecture.
  • Develop automation scripts for deployment and configuration management.
  • Install, configure and maintain Unix/Linux servers (RHEL).
  • Collaborate with DBAs to support Oracle deployments and migrations.
  • Create technical documentation for migration processes and DR practices.
  • Establish best practices for cluster management and disaster recovery.

Role Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Linux Administrator with proven expertise in OpenShift Container Platform OCP migration from VMware virtual machines to baremetal servers The ideal candidate will have strong skills in baremetal cluster engineering advanced Linux administration and a solid understanding of networking and Oracle environments

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and execute migration of OCP clusters from VMware virtualized environments to baremetal infrastructure
  • Design and implement baremetal cluster architecture ensuring scalability performance and security
  • Develop automation scripts and tools for deployment and configuration management
  • Install configure and maintain Unix Linux servers RHEL
  • Manage and maintain enterprise grade Linux systems RHEL preferred
  • Perform system hardening patching and troubleshooting for high availability environments
  • Optimize system performance and resource utilization
  • Collaborate with application teams to support deployments upgrades and system migrations
  • Configure and manage network components for baremetal clusters switches VLANs routing
  • Ensure secure and efficient network connectivity between OCP clusters and enterprise systems
  • Support Oracle database deployments and integrations within Linux and OCP environments
  • Collaborate with DBAs to ensure optimal performance and reliability
  • Create detailed technical documentation for migration processes architecture designs and operational procedures
  • Establish best practices for cluster management and disaster recovery
Technical Expertise
  • 5 years of experience in Linux system administration RHELCentOS preferred
  • 5 years of hands-on experience in Unix Linux system administration
  • 3 years of hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Platform
  • 3 years of experience in automation"
  • Proven hands-on experience with OpenShift Container Platform OCP including cluster setup and migration.
  • Strong knowledge of baremetal server provisioning and cluster engineering
  • Proficiency in networking concepts TCPIP VLAN DNS firewalls
  • Familiarity with Oracle database environments and integration on Linux
  • Experience with Ansible Terraform or similar automation toolsKnowledge of VMware virtualization and migration strategies
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer RHCE or equivalent
  • Experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration beyond OCP
  • Exposure to enterprise security and compliance standards
