Job summary

Tahlia Waters is seeking a Lift Maintenance Manager to supervise a team of zone managers, team leaders and technicians. You will drive maintenance operations, ensure safety compliance, and deliver high-quality service to clients and property managers.

You will develop training programs, monitor performance, and lead safety audits while leveraging data to optimize uptime and efficiency. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (preferred).
  • 5+ years in lift maintenance with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in managing lift maintenance operations, including safety and client relations.
  • Strong knowledge of lift systems and safety codes.
  • Ability to read technical manuals and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with lift maintenance software (e.g., CMMS).
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Customer-focused and able to manage multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of lift maintenance staff (zone managers, team leaders and technicians), ensuring they are well-trained, motivated, and performing at high standards.
  • Develop and implement training programs to ensure the team is up to date with industry practices, safety protocols, and new technologies.
  • Assign tasks, manage team workloads, and ensure all maintenance activities are carried out on time and in accordance with safety standards.
  • Monitor team performance and provide regular feedback, conduct performance reviews, and address any issues as they arise.
  • Ensure timely and effective troubleshooting and repair of any lift breakdowns, managing both planned and emergency repairs, ensuring maximum uptime and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed in compliance with legal and safety requirements, and that records are updated accurately.
  • Ensure compliance with all lift safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards (e.g., ISO standards, local laws, etc.).
  • Lead safety audits and risk assessments to ensure the safe operation of all lift systems. Implement and maintain a robust safety culture, regularly conducting safety meetings, training sessions, and audits to minimize risks and ensure safe working practices.
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, property managers, and suppliers, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate proactively with clients regarding service schedules, planned maintenance, repairs, and any disruptions in lift services. Address client concerns or complaints promptly and professionally, providing solutions and ensuring long-term satisfaction.
  • Monitor and track lift system performance, identifying areas for improvement or potential issues.
  • Use data-driven insights to optimize maintenance processes, reduce downtime, and improve service efficiency.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on maintenance activities, service performance, budget status, and any issues for senior management. Look for cost-saving opportunities and process improvements while maintaining the highest standards of service delivery.
  • Stay up to date with the latest lift technologies, such as predictive maintenance, IoT, and Lift Enhancements.
  • Evaluate and implement new tools, software, or technologies to improve efficiency and maintain a competitive edge in the lift maintenance industry. Collaborate with other departments or external vendors to implement new technologies or upgrades to existing lift systems.

What Do You Need to Have?
  • Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

  • Proven experience in managing lift maintenance operations, including team leadership, safety, and client relations.
  • Strong technical knowledge of lift systems, components, and related equipment.
  • In-depth understanding of lift safety codes, regulations, and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and electrical schematics.
  • Familiarity with lift maintenance management software (e.g., GOfm, CMMS).
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams and improving performance.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients, team members, and senior management.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities to address operational challenges effectively.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills to manage multiple maintenance works simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and ensure timely completion of maintenance activities.
