Job summary

TÜV SÜD Singapore invites applications for an experienced Lift & Escalator Inspector to join our Real Estate & Building Technology team, supporting inspections, testing and audits of lifts/escalators to ensure local regulatory compliance.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years of hands-on lift/escalator experience, including maintenance, fault resolution and modernization projects. Onsite work in Singapore is expected.

Qualifications

• Registered with IES/ACES and LEI accreditation.
• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
• Five+ years of practical experience in lifts/escalators.
• Experience in testing, commissioning, maintenance and fault handling.
• Knowledge of risk-based assessment.
• Physically and mentally fit for high-risk inspections.

Responsibilities

• Assist SPEs to conduct inspections of lifts and escalators for annual no-load and 5-yearly load testing per BCA and MOM.
• Perform site audits to ensure proper installation, operation and maintenance compliance and safety.
• Maintain records of inspection results and ensure documentation accuracy.

You will be part of the technical expert team of our Lift & Escalator Inspection Services under Real Estate and Infrastructure Division in ASEAN to support TÜV SÜD ASEAN growth strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist SPEs (Lift & Escalator) to conduct inspections of lifts and escalators for annual no load & 5-yearly load testing for lifts in conformance with applicable standards and regulations by BCA and MOM
• Perform site audits to ensure proper installation, operation and maintenance adhering to safety and performance of the lifts and escalators
• Conduct lift and escalator inspections based on the established process as required by the company and maintain accurate and proper records of inspections results

Key Requirements

• Registered with IES/ACES and hold LEI Accreditation
• Possess a Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering discipline
• Possess at least 5 years of practical experience in for lifts and escalators preferably in the following applications:
• testing and commissioning of new lift installation and modernization
• maintenance services including repair and emergency call reactions, fault eliminations etc
• construction and planning of lifts design for varied lift manufacturers
• Satisfactory knowledge of risk-based assessment
• Demonstrated physical and mental fitness required for high-risk lift and escalator inspections
• Strong team player with independent thinking
• Target oriented, systematic strong problem solver
