• Comfortable advising senior leadership directly and working independently.

Aufgaben

• Act as the main in-house legal adviser across the firm, handling a broad generalist workload.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with service providers and vendors.
• Advise on fund matters across the multi-asset platform, including investor queries.
• Lead employment matters for a growing investment team, including contracts and exits.
• Support corporate work, governance, and M&A or strategic transactions as the firm expands.
• Instruct and manage external counsel across jurisdictions, ensuring timeliness and cost-effectiveness.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical implications.

Our client is a fast-growing, Asia-focused multi-strategy hedge fund headquartered in Singapore. It has grown quickly from start-up to a team of 100+ across the region, and invests across multiple asset classes. The culture is entrepreneurial and fast-paced, with real exposure to senior leadership. Reporting into the Head of Legal & Compliance, so you'll be the go-to lawyer for the whole business.

Responsibilities

• Act as the main in-house legal adviser across the firm, handling a broad generalist workload independently and from start to finish
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial agreements with service providers, counterparties and vendors
• Advise on fund matters across the firm's multi-asset platform, including fund documentation, structuring and investor-related queries
• Lead employment matters for a growing investment team, covering contracts, compensation-related documentation, restrictive covenants, hiring and exits
• Support corporate work, including entity governance, corporate housekeeping and M&A or strategic transactions as the firm expands
• Instruct and manage external counsel across jurisdictions, keeping work on time and cost-effective
• Keep track of legal and regulatory developments that affect the business and advise stakeholders on what they mean in practice
• Around 10 years' PQE, qualified in a common law jurisdiction
• In-house experience at a hedge fund or multi-asset investment manager is strongly preferred
• A broad generalist background spanning corporate commercial, funds, employment and general corporate/M&A work
• Proven ability to work as a stand-alone lawyer, making sound calls without a large team around you
• Resilient and self-driven, able to keep pace in an intense, high-performance environment
• Commercially minded, with the confidence to advise PMs and senior management directly
