Job summary

Qualifications

• Relevant academic qualifications in Computer Engineering, Information System, Computer Science, Cloud Computing or related field.
• Hands-on experience in cloud-native application development, DevOps or platform engineering.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript, with API/SDK cloud integration experience.
• Strong communication and passion for teaching and mentoring.
• Experience or interest in AI, IoT or cloud-enabled digital transformation is a plus.
• Relevant cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, etc) are advantageous.

This is a full-time Lecturer/Senior Lecturer position focused on delivering high-quality education in Cloud Engineering. The role involves teaching and mentoring learners in areas such as cloud engineering, cloud-native application development, DevOps and emerging technologies. The successful candidate will deliver applied and experiential learning, mentor students in developing and deployment of scalable, secure and production-ready cloud solutioning aligned with industry needs. Candidates with experience or interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), cloud-enabled digital transformation initiatives will an added advantage.

The successful candidate will:

Develop and deliver learning units in the following areas

• Develop and deliver learning units in the following areas
  • Cloud Engineering & Cloud Native Development: Design and development of cloud-native applications and services using languages such as Python, JavaScript, APIs, SDKs, microservices and managed cloud services.
  • DevOps & Platform Engineering & Automation: Implementation of CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerisations, monitoring and automated deployment practices.
  • Emerging Cloud Technologies: Adoption and application of AI, Generative AI, Data Analytics, IoT and other digital technologies within cloud environments.

• Develop and deliver industry-relevant curriculum, assessments and experiential learning activities
• Supervise student projects and provide guidance aligned with industry practices
• Participate in curriculum development, academic quality processes and continuous improvement initiatives
• Stay abreast of industry trends by participating or initiating in the development of industry-relevant projects and integrating emerging technologies into teaching and learning

What we are looking for:

We are seeking a candidate who possesses:

• Relevant academic qualifications in Computer Engineering, Information System, Computer Science, Cloud Computing or a related field.
• Practical knowledge and hands-on experience in cloud-native application development, DevOps practices or platform engineering.
• Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python and JavaScript, with experience in developing applications and integrating cloud services through APIs and SDKs.
• Strong communication skills, with a genuine passion for teaching, mentoring and engaging learners.
• Experience or interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), cloud-enabled digital transformation initiatives will be considered a plus.
• Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS, Azure, etc) will be an advantage.
