Job summary

Qualifications

• Relevant industry experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Willingness to transition from other ICT-related disciplines.
• Strong passion for education and youth/ adult learning.
• Interest in acquiring new knowledge in cybersecurity and emerging ICT domains.
• Relevant professional IT or cybersecurity certifications are an advantage but not mandatory.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with mentoring interests.

Responsibilities

• Teach full-time and part-time IT, Networking, Cybersecurity, and foundational ICT modules.
• Design, develop, review, and maintain curriculum, course materials, and assessments.
• Facilitate and guide student project work, including e-learning and self-directed learning.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and academic guidance to support student learning.
• Engage with industry partners, parents, secondary schools, and other stakeholders for outreach and partnerships.

What the role is

Lecturer (Cybersecurity & Digital Forensics) / School of Informatics & IT

What you will be working on

• Conduct full-time and part-time teaching in Information Technology, Networking, Cybersecurity, and other foundational ICT-related modules.
• Design, develop, review, and maintain curriculum, course materials, and assessments, while recommending enhancements to improve student learning outcomes, performance, and employability.
• Facilitate and guide student project work, including e-learning and self-directed learning initiatives, to develop technical and professional competencies.
• Provide coaching, mentoring, and academic guidance to support students' learning, development, and success.
• Engage and collaborate with industry partners, parents, secondary schools, and other stakeholders to support outreach, partnership, and student development activities.

What we are looking for

• Relevant industry experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Networking, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related fields.
• Candidates with fewer years of relevant experience who demonstrate a strong aptitude and willingness to transition from other ICT-related disciplines will also be considered.
• Strong passion for education and a commitment to nurturing and imparting knowledge to youths and adult learners.
• Keen interest and willingness to acquire new knowledge and skills in cybersecurity and emerging ICT domains.
• Relevant professional IT or cybersecurity certifications will be an advantage but are not mandatory.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, with an interest in mentoring and engaging youths and young adults.
• Possess strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
