Job summary

Singapore Polytechnic invites applications for an academic role in cybersecurity. The appointee will teach and develop curriculum, guide students, and contribute to consultancy and applied research projects. Responsibilities include creating teaching materials, reviewing curricula, staying current on cyber trends, and supporting school initiatives through committee work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in web and application programming, security testing, risk & vulnerability assessment, threat management and defence, security operations and incident response with practical hands-on experience or computer/mobile forensics and investigation.
  • Passionate about education and possess strong interest in teaching and mentoring both youths and adult learners.
  • Self-driven, independent and possess readiness to work as a team.
  • Good knowledge of both Linux and Windows based environments.
  • Familiar with the various IT security standards and frameworks, IT best practices, IT security compliance and audit standards.

The job of an academic is challenging and meaningful. Not only will he/she has both the knowledge and working experience, he/she must also possess the ability to deconstruct the knowledge and experience, guiding students to reconstruct them as their own knowledge. He/she must also possess a passion for working with youths, nurturing them, and moulding their characters. There will be opportunities to develop the curriculum, introduce new courses as well as be involved in consultancy and other applied research projects. Administrative work related to teaching and School/Institutional strategic initiatives will be an important part of the job too. Successful candidates will be expected to be resourceful and innovative with initiative and good communication skills.



[What you will be working on]

Cybersecurity

The appointee must be competent to teach in at least three of the following subjects:



  • Secure Coding

  • Applied Cryptography

  • Industrial Control Systems / OT Security

  • Malware Reverse Engineering

  • Ethical Hacking and Defences

  • Operational Technology Security

  • IOT and Cloud Security

Requirements
