Job summary

Singtel is seeking a seasoned architect to lead the end-to-end architecture and governance of its telco cloud infrastructure in Singapore. You will shape the target architecture across cloud platforms, networking, and supporting services, guiding modernization efforts and cloud-native adoption.

You will define standards, drive architecture reviews, and collaborate across cybersecurity, operations and enterprise teams to deliver scalable, secure end-to-end cloud solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Extensive experience in telco cloud architecture and cloud-native infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture and governance of Singtel's cloud infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain architecture roadmap aligned with network transformation and cloud-native adoption.
• Define standards, reference architectures, and design principles for compute, storage, and networking.
• Ensure integration across cloud platforms, transport networks, security, and management systems.
• Provide leadership for large infrastructure transformation programmes and cloud migrations.
• Lead architecture reviews and ensure security, availability and operational best practices.
• Collaborate with planning managers for architectural consistency across domains.
• Evaluate new technologies and vendors during RFP/RFQ and sourcing activities.
• Drive simplification, standardisation and automation across infrastructure.
• Provide guidance to engineering and cybersecurity teams throughout delivery.
• Mentor planning engineers and promote architecture best practices.

• Lead the end-to-end architecture and technical governance of Singtel's telco cloud infrastructure, defining the target architecture across cloud platforms, cloud networking and supporting infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain the technology architecture roadmap for telco cloud platforms, ensuring alignment with Singtel's network transformation strategy, cloud-native adoption and long‑term business objectives.
• Define architecture standards, design principles and reference architectures covering compute, storage, virtualization, container platforms, cloud networking and infrastructure services.
• Ensure seamless integration between cloud platforms, IP transport networks, network security infrastructure and supporting management systems to deliver scalable, resilient and secure end‑to‑end cloud infrastructure.
• Provide architectural leadership for major infrastructure transformation programmes, including cloud platform refresh, technology modernisation and migration to cloud‑native platforms.
• Lead technical architecture reviews and solution governance to ensure proposed infrastructure designs comply with architecture standards, security requirements and operational best practices.
• Partner with planning managers responsible for cloud platforms, IP transport and cybersecurity to ensure architectural consistency across infrastructure domains.
• Lead technical evaluation of new technologies and vendor solutions, providing architecture recommendations during RFP/RFQ, technology sourcing and commercial evaluation activities.
• Drive infrastructure simplification, standardisation and automation by identifying opportunities to optimise architecture, improve operational efficiency and reduce technical debt.
• Provide architecture guidance and technical consultancy to engineering, operations, cybersecurity and enterprise architecture teams throughout project delivery.
• Mentor planning engineers and managers by promoting architecture best practices and strengthening technical capability across the organisation.

Skills For Success

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 12–15 years of experience in telecommunications, cloud infrastructure, enterprise architecture or network engineering.
• Strong expertise in telco cloud architecture, including NFVi, cloud‑native infrastructure and distributed cloud platforms.
• Deep understanding of cloud networking, including routing, switching, software‑defined networking, load balancing and network integration within cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies, Kubernetes, OpenShift, ESXi, OpenStack, storage platforms and cloud infrastructure services.
• Experience developing enterprise or infrastructure architecture roadmaps and governing technical standards across multiple technology domains.
• Experience leading architecture for large‑scale cloud transformation, infrastructure modernisation and technology refresh programmes.
• Experience supporting vendor sourcing activities, including architecture assessment, technical evaluation and solution recommendation.
• Strong understanding of high availability, disaster recovery, geo‑redundancy, infrastructure security and operational resilience for mission‑critical telecommunications platforms.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to influence architecture decisions across engineering, operations, cybersecurity, enterprise architecture and senior leadership.
