Job summary

Singtel is seeking a skilled Cloud Services Engineer to join its AI-enabled, cloud-first operations in Singapore. You will contribute to service delivery and operations, ensuring reliable Linux-based infrastructure, secure networks and scalable cloud solutions.

You will participate in technical planning, testing, patching and disaster recovery, with exposure to automation scripts and playbooks, while collaborating with vendors and internal teams to minimize downtime and drive continuous

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or computing or related field.
• Knowledge of Linux operating system.
• Knowledge of IP networking fundamentals.
• Strong analytical, planning and organizational skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.

Responsibilities

• Involve in technical planning, implementation and delivery of Cloud projects.
• Develop and review test cases for the Cloud service.
• Liaise with system vendors for delivery, testing and patching.
• Perform system and service testing for roll-out of new products.
• Support daily operation of servers and storage (Linux).
• Apply patches and manage upgrades on systems and platforms.
• Coordinate disaster recovery activities to minimize downtime.
• Develop playbooks and scripts to automate processes.
• Occasionally work outside normal hours for upgrades/patches.
• Be on rostered standby to handle unplanned faults.
• Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis.

How You Will Make An Impact

Service Delivery

• Involve in technical planning, implementation and delivery of Cloud projects.
• Develop and review test cases for the Cloud service.
• Liaise and co-ordinate with system vendor(s) for the delivery, testing and timely implementation of new software, hardware and patches.
• Perform system and service testing to roll-out new related products and services.

Service Operations

• Responsible for supporting the daily operation of servers (HW & SW mainly in Linux OS) and storage systems.
• System and Platform Patch loading, implementation of software and hardware upgrades
• Perform and coordinate disaster recovery activity expeditiously in times of service disruptions so as to minimize service downtime and revenue loss.
• Develop playbook and scripts to automate processes to improve operational efficiency
• May need to work outside normal working hours to carry out upgrades and patch loading as such activities may disrupt services.
• The successful candidate is required to be on rostered standby alert to handle unplanned system faults and/or service degradation.
• Troubleshoot and perform root causes failure analysis for software & hardware faults related to the network nodes.
