Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience in investment management, trading or financial services tech.
• Proficient in Rust, C#/.NET, Java or Python.
• Strong background in high-performance, concurrent distributed systems.
• Experience with messaging/streaming systems (Kafka, Kinesis, Solace, RabbitMQ).
• Proven technical leadership with mentoring and hands-on coding.
• Strong knowledge of modern software practices: Git, automated testing, CI/CD.
• Experience using AI coding assistants or agentic tools.
• Excellent communication bridging technical and business goals.

Lead the development of high-performance trading platforms, architecting scalable distributed systems while remaining hands-on with engineering, mentoring developers and driving technology solutions across complex global financial markets.

What You'll Do:

Take ownership of the architecture, development and delivery of mission-critical platforms supporting the complete post-trade lifecycle. Lead technical direction while remaining actively involved in designing, coding, reviewing and delivering production software.

Your responsibilities will include:

1. Architect and develop high-throughput, distributed systems with a focus on scalability, reliability and resilience.
2. Drive end-to-end trade processing capabilities, covering trade capture, allocation, settlement and reconciliation.
3. Develop lifecycle functionality supporting corporate actions, expiries, cashflows and other trade events.
4. Integrate new financial products into existing platforms, collaborating with engineers and business stakeholders.
5. Lead technical decisions, conduct code reviews and mentor engineers while maintaining a hands-on development approach.
6. Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions and collaborate with international technology teams.
7. Shape the technical roadmap, championing platform improvements, maintainability and long-term performance.
8. Leverage AI-powered coding assistants and agentic development tools to enhance software engineering, testing and delivery.

About You:

1. 10+ years of software engineering experience within investment management, trading or financial services technology.
2. Extensive programming experience with Rust, C#/.NET, Java or Python.
3. Strong background designing and delivering high-performance, concurrent and event-driven distributed systems.
4. Experience with messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Amazon Kinesis, Solace or RabbitMQ.
5. Proven technical leadership experience, with the ability to mentor engineers while remaining hands-on.
6. Strong knowledge of modern software development practices, including Git, automated testing and CI/CD.
7. Practical experience using AI coding assistants or agentic development tools.
8. Excellent communication skills and the ability to bridge technical and business requirements.

Desirable Skills:

1. Production experience with Rust and object-oriented development using C#/.NET or Java.
2. Full-stack development experience with React, Angular, APIs and relational or NoSQL databases.
3. Cloud experience across AWS or Azure, including serverless architectures.
4. Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform or similar tools.
5. Familiarity with Agile methodologies, test-driven development and the FIX protocol.
6. Understanding of international post-trade workflows across equities, fixed income and commodities.
