Job summary

JPMorgan Chase in Singapore seeks a Lead Software Engineer to help design, develop, and deliver scalable software components for secure and resilient technology products.

You will contribute across the full SDLC in an Agile environment, collaborating with Product, Front Office, Middle Office, Finance, Legal and other functions to meet demanding deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 5+ years applied experience in software engineering.
• Hands-on system design, application development, testing, and operational stability experience.
• Strong Java and Spring expertise; multithreading, REST, caching services, DB schema design, and data access technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, implement, and support projects on the Global Portfolio Swap platform, ensuring secure, stable, and scalable solutions.
• Build high-quality production code and algorithms; execute design, development, and troubleshooting across multiple components.
• Deliver software on time and to a high standard; support Production, Simulation, QA, and Development environments.
• Design, develop, and maintain pricing systems; enhance existing systems by analyzing objectives and identifying improvements.
• Drive innovation and best practices; participate in the full SDLC using Agile methodologies.
• Manage defect tracking, resolve issues, and prepare system updates.
• Collaborate across global teams; communicate clearly with colleagues in multiple offices.
• Partner with Product, Front Office, Middle Office, Finance, Legal, and other JPMorganChase functions to deliver competitive, scalable solutions.
• Meet tight deadlines and adapt to evolving requirements in line with departmental needs.
• Orchestrate and deploy highly scalable REST-based stateless services and APIs for web applications.
• Think beyond routine approaches to decompose technical problems and build robust solutions.

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Formal training/certification in software engineering with 5+ years applied experience.
• Possess hands‑on system design, application development, testing, and operational stability experience.
• Possess strong Java and Spring expertise; multithreading, REST, caching services, DB schema design, and data access technologies.
• Proficient in Oracle Database, SQL, and PL/SQL proficiency, including stored procedures.
• Knowledge of automated testing methodologies/frameworks (e.g., JUnit, TDD, BDD).
• Experience designing ecosystems for web applications and API platforms; strong OOD and design patterns.
• Familiar with CI/CD and DevOps tooling (e.g., Maven, Hudson), plus Git/SVN version control.
