Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC in Singapore seeks an experienced Oracle PL/SQL developer to build, test, and optimize applications based on specifications in Oracle environments for banking services.

You will focus on performance tuning, complex SQL/PLSQL, and handling XML data types, while collaborating across Windows and Linux platforms and supporting migration of legacy banking data. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of related working experience.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills with complex queries and objects.
• Solid understanding of relational database systems, especially Oracle Database.
• Experience optimizing SQL/PLSQL for high-volume systems.
• Experience across Windows and Linux/Unix.
• Familiarity with Oracle Forms Builder, Reports Builder, and SQL Developer.
• Knowledge of XML processing and Oracle data types (XMLTYPE, CLOB, BLOB).
• Experience with Oracle AQ is a plus.
• Git or Subversion proficiency.
• Agile development experience.
• Knowledge of core banking modules such as Limits & Risk, GL, Trade Finance, Bank Guarantees, Deposits, Lending.

How You’ll Make a Difference

• Develop and test programs according to functional and/or technical specification within timed estimates as part of a team and on individual capacity during full development cycle or as per individual user request from clients.
• Analyze and tune programs to meet optimum performance and operational efficiency.
• Design and/or propose sound technical solutions for elementary and fundamental requirements.
• Review gap/functional specifications and map the requirements to standard functionalities of the product. Analyze the potential scope and risk of the proposed business requirements and prepare appropriate document as needed including justifiable estimated change effort for elementary and fundamental requirements.
• Troubleshoot and correct software defects during development, implementation and maintenance.
• Refer unresolved problems to senior team members for technical and functional guidance.
• Provide technical and application support to clients and other internal groups.
• Assist the bank in migrating their legacy data to ensure adherence to existing strategy.
• Assist in any ad-hoc project tasks as assigned and necessary.
• Execute technical and functional tasks with minimum supervision from senior team member.
• Apply functional and technical knowledge of core banking modules, including Limits and Risk Management, General Ledger, Trade Finance, Bank Guarantees, Deposits, Lending, when analyzing requirements, designing solutions, troubleshooting issues, and supporting implementation activities.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of related working experience.
• Strong working knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL , including writing and optimizing complex queries and database objects.
• Solid understanding of relational database management systems (RDBMS) , particularly Oracle Database.
• Experience in optimizing SQL and PL/SQL performance to support high-volume, mission-critical transaction processing systems.
• Experience working across multiple operating systems, including Windows and Linux/Unix .
• Familiarity with Oracle development tools such as Oracle Forms Builder, Reports Builder, and SQL Developer.
• Strong understanding of database design concepts and data modeling.
• XML \& Oracle Data Types: Experience in XML processing and Oracle-specific data types , including XMLTYPE,CLOB, BLOB , and user-defined types ( OBJECT, VARRAY, nested tables ).
• Messaging (Oracle AQ): Familiarity with Oracle Advanced Queuing (AQ), including queue management and message-based asynchronous processing, is an advantage.
• Tools &Utilities: Experience with **SQL*Plus**, TOAD, Oracle SQL Developer**, or similar tools.
• Version Control: Proficient in Git and/or Subversion .
• Experience working in Agile environments, with a strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software delivery practices.
• Functional and technical knowledge of core banking systems, such as Limits and Risk Management, General Ledger, Trade Finance, Bank Guarantees, Deposits and Lending, is an advantage.
• Proven ability to write clean, well-designed, efficient, and thoroughly documented code.
• Demonstrated expertise in developing testable code and ensuring high-quality software delivery.
• Willing to travel and accept overseas assignments.
