Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC seeks a Senior Software Developer to design, develop and maintain high‑quality software applications supporting securities, pre/post trade and operations within a private banking environment.

You will translate business requirements into technical designs, author designs, and work hands‑on across the delivery lifecycle, collaborating with analysts, offshore teams, testers and production support to ensure successful delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering (CS/IT preferred).
• 10+ years of software development experience across distributed teams.
• Experience in banking (Private Banking or Wealth Management preferred).
• Knowledge of Capital Markets & Securities, Private Banking products.
• Proficient in S2i, COBOL, DB2, SQL, GIT, GitLab, Splunk, DBeaver, Eclipse.
• Familiar with Agile and DevOps delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Software Developer to design, develop and maintain high-quality software applications supporting securities, pre/post trade and operations within a private banking environment.

You will translate business requirements into system and technical specifications, author technical designs, and work hands-on across the delivery lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with business analysts, technical leads, offshore development teams, testers and production support, and will support the Project Manager throughout project execution to ensure successful delivery.

This is a hands‑on senior role combining technical depth with client‑facing exposure.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage early in projects to run requirement‑gathering workshops with clients and follow the project/product roadmap
• Author product design and technical specifications; support Business Analysts during analysis, solution proposal and cost estimation
• Perform development estimations and impact analysis for functional stories and change requests
• Identify project risks and define mitigation plans together with the Project Manager
• Collaborate with project leads, business analysts and the wider IT team to resolve issues and ensure solutions are viable and consistent
• Provide technical guidance to the offshore application development team
• Develop medium to complex applications in line with technical specifications
• Execute unit, integration and system testing to validate deliverables
• Support clients during User Acceptance Testing (enquiries, batch job execution in simulation environments, error resolution)
• Contribute to continuous improvement of delivery methodology and knowledge management practices

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, preferably Computer Science or IT
• 10+ years of software development experience, with a proven track record working with distributed delivery teams across geographies
• Experience in a banking environment is essential — Private Banking or Wealth Management strongly preferred
• Business knowledge across Capital Markets & Securities, Private Banking and Wealth Management, including products such as Securities/Equities, Options, Accumulator/Decumulator, Forex, IRS, Corporate Actions and Portfolio Management Systems
• Technical skills: S2i, COBOL, DB2, SQL, GIT, GitLab, Splunk, DBeaver, Eclipse
• Sound experience with modern delivery methodologies (Agile, DevOps)
• Strong programming, design, testing and debugging capability

Advantageous

• Exposure to APIs and digital banking
• Prior experience implementing core banking products (Temenos T24, Avaloq, Olympic or similar) for global clients
• Experience mentoring junior developers and sharing knowledge across teams
• Ability to influence technical direction beyond one's own team
