Temasek Laboratories@NTU in Singapore seeks a Research Scientist with a strong background in semiconductor laser diodes, semiconductor photonics, or related materials. The role involves leading fabrication, characterization, and analysis of laser diodes, plus supporting project activities and safety in the lab.

The candidate should hold a PhD or a Master’s with 8+ years of relevant experience and be skilled in cleanroom processes, lithography, and optical simulations. Shortlisting will apply.

Qualifications

• PhD degree or Master’s with at least 8 years relevant experience in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Materials Engineering, Applied Physics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience with cleanroom processes, including lithography, PECVD deposition, metal deposition, and rapid thermal annealing; optical mask design; optical simulation (BPM or FDTD); and fabrication/characterization of laser diodes/semiconductors.
• Strong writing skills for proposals, reports and publications in good academic journals.

Responsibilities

• Assist with research operations: procurement of lab supplies, experimental setup, literature reviews, evaluation of specs, and establishing safe work practices.
• Lead fabrication, characterization, and analysis of laser diodes.
• Support project activities: events, publications, proposal preparation, planning, monitoring and reporting.
