Job summary

SIMTech's MCF group seeks a motivated research engineer to lead and support both research and industry projects in Hybrid Bulk Metal Forming. You will design and develop innovative molten metal forming processes for semiconductor, automotive, biomedical, and energy applications, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and mentoring junior staff.

You will manage project timelines and budgets, prepare technical reports, and pursue patents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher in Materials/Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in metal forming processes, design, testing and validation.
• Proven project leadership and customer management experience.
• Strong cross-technology engineering capability.
• Networking in industry to engage vendors/suppliers.
• Innovation track record in manufacturing and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of industrial components and metal forming solutions.
• Drive R&D and industrial engagement plans for metal processing.
• Prepare technical reports, slides, publications and patents.
• Manage project timelines, budgets and deliverables.
• Mentor team members and collaborate with partners.
• Collaborate with industry partners and academia on joint projects.
• Support process equipment setup, lab operations and inventory.
• Ensure safety and quality in lab and pilot-scale operations.
