Job summary

Triple-A is hiring a hands-on Lead/Principal Engineer to own the technical vision of our money-movement core: wallets, deposits, payouts, settlement and balances. You will drive the move to a double-entry ledger, raise reliability on the money path, and mentor a strong backend team while shipping code weekly.

The role targets someone with 8+ years in backend engineering and proven architecture leadership within payments or fintech, with deep Node.js or Go expertise and strong PostgreSQL skills.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in backend engineering, with 3+ years guiding payments/fintech direction.
• Deep experience with Node.js or Go in large codebases.
• Experience building or operating a payment gateway or PSP.
• Track record as architect or leading system design for production platforms.
• Strong PostgreSQL: transactions, concurrency, migrations, performance.
• Proven design of idempotent, auditable money-movement systems.
• Experience integrating third-party financial APIs and signed webhooks.
• Strong security mindset and clear written communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of our crypto payment gateway: checkout and merchant APIs.
• Architect and evolve stablecoin/crypto deposit, payout, refund and settlement flows.
• Lead the migration from counter-based balances to a ledger, with zero financial drift.
• Design resilient integrations with custody and liquidity providers.
• Define HLDs and review LLDs; set API design, idempotency and observability standards.
• Mentor engineers and partner with Product, Compliance and Finance Ops.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture of our crypto payment gateway: checkout and payment pages, payment links, webhooks and merchant APIs
• Architect and evolve stablecoin/crypto deposit, payout, refund and settlement flows
• Lead the migration from counter-based balances to a ledger, with zero financial drift
• Design resilient integrations with custody and liquidity providers

• Set standards for API design, idempotency, webhooks, testing and observability
• Mentor engineers and partner with Product, Compliance and Finance Ops

Requirements

• 8+ years in backend engineering, 3+ leading technical direction in payments, fintech, exchange or custody
• Deep Node.js or Go experience in large, long-lived codebases
• Experience building or operating a payment gateway or PSP (checkout, payment status lifecycle, refunds, merchant webhooks)
• Track record as a software architect, or leading architecture and system design for production platforms
• Strong PostgreSQL: transactions, concurrency, safe migrations, performance tuning
• Proven design of idempotent, auditable money-movement and reconciliation systems
• Experience integrating third-party financial or custody APIs and signed webhooks
• Strong security mindset and clear written communication

Nice to have

• Rust or Go, or double-entry ledger experience
• . Hands-on blockchain knowledge: UTXO and account-based chains, confirmations, fees, stablecoins on EVM, Tron or Solana
